ok so im looking to buy a seperate amp to power my lsi15's, lsic and lsifx's. I want to get a 7 ch amp as i wish to eventually upgrage with 2 lsi 7's and dont want to be stuck with a 5 ch amp. Iv been looking at the b&k reference 200.7, but at about 3000 it is out of my price range. Also, my speakers are rated at 200 watts so i dont know if this would be overkill. Can anyone give me advice as to where i could a) find this amp at a reasonable price, or b) find a comprable amp for under 2000, maybe even 1500. Any input is greatly appreciated, thank you

    Try this site

    http://www.abamps.com/amplifiers.html

He mainly does stuff for the industry but has faceplates more suited for the home use. Great specs and a very good price.

    Just an option

    Overkill, what's that? :)

I would not worry about too much power damaging your speakers. Usually too little power is what causes problems. A good suggestion for finding that amp used at a good price is www.audiogon.com and even ebay. I bought the amp in my signature used on ebay and have never had an issue. People also report good result with Emotiva amps on LSi speakers but I have never heard that combination.

It's from the same guy that makes the Verastarr amps and used to do the Cinepro amps too, all the same chasis/design, just different caps ect for keeping the costs down. I have one of his amps and wish I found him a long time ago, exceptional quality and service and a great price. No affiliation, just a very hapy customer:D

i was actually looking at b&k, may i ask how much you paid for your amp, iv never dealt with e bay and would be nervous about buying an amp used. Iv decided to go with a 5 ch amp instead of the 7 and have been looking at the b&k reference 200.5. Iv also looked into sunfire, does anyone have any opinions about these brands?

    xpa-5 + xpa 2. 7 channels, save about $500 off b&k, great sound. Just a suggestion.

    Hey guys,

I just moved from a Onkyo 701 that was powering my Polk Lsi's to the B&K Reference 200.7 and Reference 70 Pre/Pro. All I can say is what a difference!! I bought my Amp a few months back. I bought the Pre/Pro from Steve at Sound Video in Minneapolis a couple of weeks ago. I am in Iowa so I had him ship it to me. His prices are very good. I wish I would have known about him when I bought the Amp. I probably could have saved even more. Anyway, I would check with him. He is the owner and an authorized dealer. He has a very good relationship with B&K.

I had been wanting separates for a couple of years and I finally did it. My system is complete. At least for the time being!!
