My all time favorite band and has been since I bought album number 5054 of their first release. I've seen these guys 6 times...except for the time at the Cotton Bowl where I only kinda'sorta saw them. I'm still checking their web site to see if they will swing by Vegas. BTW, the new album is perfectly Eagles.

    UPDATE....

I just got home a few minutes ago. Here is a_mattison's reveiw from his tread last fall about the concert in Chicago.
    a_mattison wrote:
I saw The Eagles at the United Center in Chicago last night on their Out of Eden (aka. Assisted Living Tour) Tour.

Holy crap can those guys still play. I hope they make a DVD of this one. "Out of Eden" was numbing and gave me goosebumps. They also played their normal list of concert songs as well as many of their new ones. The concert started shortly after 8:00 and we walked out of the stadium at 11:45..... Yea...They played a while. 2 Encores.

How can Joe Walsh get any better at the guitar? I don't know, but he played the hell out of that thing.

I have to agree with everything posted above. I have been to a lot of concerts over the last 40 years. Some were more elaborate, some had larger crowds, some were more rowdy (with lots of wacky weed)...but all things considered...this may be the best concert from a performance standpoint I have ever attended. They are the epitome of professionals. They are NOT a group of 60+ year old musicians trying to act like 20 year old rockers...they are extremely talented and experienced musicians that KNOW how to perform...and do it very, very well. I am amazed at how good their voices sound today...at their age.

a-mattison is right..."Long Road Out of Eden" was THE BEST of the many songs they performed (started at 8:00 PM and finished at 11:30 with a 15 minute break). Simply outstanding. The next most memorable IMO was Joe Walsh's (James Gang) "Walk Away". He played several other notables from his repertoire like, "Life's Been Good To Me...So Far", "In The City" and "Funk 49" and the crowd loved them...but "Walk Away" was stellar.

They managed to play something from most every album including Hell Freezes Over. There were several of Don Henley's solo work like "Boys of Summer" and "Dirty Laundry". Timothy B. Schmit can still hit the high notes on his signature ballads.

If you like good music and if you consider yourself even remotely a fan of the Eagles...you need to see them if they come close to your town. You don't have to be in the $150+ section to enjoy the concert...just get into the venue. Do it now...while there is still an opportunity. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Now a couple of side notes that have nothing to do with the music.

Technology marches on. If you have been around for awhile or even watched concert footage of the past...there were always the concert scenes with many in the crowd, their outstretched arms swaying to the music, holding a lighter with the flickering flame. Very......dramatic.

Somehow, a sea of outstretched arms, swaying to the rhythm of the music with the soft blue glow of a cell phone LCD screen...just isn't the same.

And finally...for those SPECIAL people who believe that the request to not use any sort of flash photography is meant for everyone BUT THEM....GO F**K yourselves! You mental midgets who are sitting hundreds of feet from the stage have no clue that your piece of **** digital camera...with the built in flash...has a usable flash range of 4-10 feet (at best). All you have managed to do is to burn the retinas of those other concert attendees within said 4-10 foot range...ensuring that their ability to see the performers clearly and without spots is impossible. On top of that...your pictures will still be crap.

I actually like Long Road Out Of Eden. Some tracks better than others (as with any album). It is well recorded and sonically quite good IMO.

LOL, then we have people who believe "No Flash photography" means no pictures should be taken even if you're not using Flash... I have a word for these people...

I also love the Eagles, they are without a doubt some of the finist musicians to ever grace the stage.

Very talented and very savy when it comes to putting on a show.

Yup! Tony, maybe your ears were clogged when you listened to it. They returned to their country/rock roots & let her rip! Outstanding harmonies, meaningful lyrics, they sound better than ever. Not bad for guys 60 yrs old.

You need to take another listen my friend.:)

The Eadles have had Country in a large percentage of their songs from the very first song on the very first album. Yet; I'm not a country fan either and I still love the stuff.
