I'm clearing out my closet and selling what I don't use any more. Buyer pays shipping and add 3% for Paypal.
NAD 5440 = $50
This is an oldie, but a goodie. Built in the early '90's. From what I can tell it does NOT read CD-Rs.
AMC CD8b = $100
It's in great shape and includes the original owners manual and remote control. Here's a link with details on the specs.

Rotel RCD-1072 = $495
This is an outstanding CD player, very crisp sounding without being too harsh. It includes the original box, manual and remote. Click on the links below for detailed reviews.

http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/transports/dvd-players/rotel-rcd-1072
I can e-mail detailed pictures of any item upon request.
Regrettably, I think I will be selling my Polk XRT-12 XM tuner too. Let me know if interested.

Hi. Just to let you know the older NAD cd players will play cd-r discs. I have owned (and still do) older NAD cd players and this is the way to do it. I experimented with different brands of cd-r discs and Memorex music cds (the discs with the little squares all over it) work great. I am sure other cd-r work great but once I found one that worked well I never tried any others, if it isn't broke don't fix it. The trick is to burn at 1x-2x speed only. When you burn faster the pits created by the laser are not deep enough. When you play a cd-r that has been burned fast all you hear is static on older NAD cd players most of the time. I now have a 100% succcess rate when burning a cd-r and playing them on my NAD 5100.
Good luck with your sale. Sorry for getting a little off topic but I though you or others looking at this might find this info. helpful. -

Thanks for getting back so soon about the remote. That's a SMOKIN' HOT PRICE on a machine that originally sold for over $400, but I've got to have a remote (for bedroom rig and getting up to change just doesn't work).VTL ST50 w/mods / RCA6L6GC / TlfnknECC801S

BigMac - Thanks for the info. I don't burn CDs, so I never thought to check. The only reason I know it wouldn't play, is because I sold it to someone locally and when he got it home he said it wouldn't play his CD-Rs, so I graceously refunded his money. Thanks again. -
I thought it came with a remote Universal remote:)
I think it has remote capabilities. I'm not the original owner. When I bought it, the seller did not have the remote. -
bumpity, bumpity, bump!

The AMC player ain't too shabby. Even better with a couple of mods."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson

My modded CD8b is one of the best CDPs I've ever heard. ZERO can get you a list of the mods he did. Mine ain't going anywhere. Or could be used as an excellent transport with a good dac. Price is right."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,
CAUSE I SPEAK OF THE POMPITIOUS OF LOVE" -
Is the AMC still for sale?

any amps

any amps
Sorry. No amps, but I do have:
Adcom GFT-1 vintage digital tunner
Adcom GFS-2 speaker selector
Polk XRT-12 XM tuner w/box, manual, remote and antenna
Marantz Model 2270 receiver w/original box and original shipping box
From my original post above, both the AMC and the Rotel CDPs are sold.
Cheers! -
Are you serious about letting the Marantz go? I like the vintage sound-I'm pretty much vintage myself.

I'm consider it. I picked it up about a year ago thinking I put it into the rotation, but just haven't gotten around to it. I hate having it collecting dust when someone could put it to good use. It may need a little bench work. One of the display lamps is out, a few of the push buttons are sluggish and could benefit from couple of shots of contact cleaner/lubricant. I'm handy enough with tools, but lack the knowlegde and don't want to ruin anything on this vintage beauty.
I couldn't believe when I bought that the guy had kept the original box and the outer shipping box too. I even have a repair bill from the early '80s on a curcuit or something he had fixed  . Anyhow, if I get the right offer I'm willing to let it go. -
Figure the shipping to 08086 for the NAD and PM me a total, would ya?
