Bi-Amp Connecting

I have new A7's and am confused by the bi-amp connection option. How does the bi-amp work? I have two amps - one amp in a stack in the basement that controls all music throughout the house and one amp dedicated for the that the A7's are in. They are not separate amps for high and low frequencies. I would like to connect both amps to the speakers. Can I?

You can but the amps will need to be together and near the speakers. Simply run one amp to the binding posts of each of your speakers and the other one to the remaining set of binding posts for each speaker. Generally the more powerful amp will be used to drive the bass.

It sounds like it would make more sense to run the A7's off of the separate amp and leave the other one alone. Why do you want to bi-amp? What amps do you have?
