I own a pair of fx500i(white) that has been sitting in my garage for 6 months now. It has less then 2 hours of use ever since I open the box. If you are interested, you can email me for details.

I used to have the FX500i and was disappointed with them.
There is nothing wrong with them... just over-priced and kinda mediocre. I think it would have been a good speaker if it had been built with TWO 6-1/2 mid range drivers. The single opposed tweeter was kinda lame.

In short, if you don't find them... its not really that big of deal.

I traded my FX500i's in on a set of RT800i for rear surrounds and couldn't be more happy.

    Dr. Spec...

I believe that each FX1000i had a total of FOUR mid-range 6-1/2" drivers.

It would have been nice if the FX500i had TWO mid-range drivers rather than just one per cabinet.

You have believed wrong. But if you think the 500's were expensive - try a grand for the 1000's.
I own the 500's and I agree another driver would have been nice - double the price for just another driver was not for me. But I am very happy with them. Having a 6 channel setup the 500's have plenty of "diffused" sound inwhich they were designed for. I am not a fan of direct radiating speakers for side surrounds.
They take away from the frontstage.

    Dr Spec....

I was wrong and you were right. <sigh>.
Sorry - must be getting old.....
First thing that goes is you memory and I
    forget the 2nd thing.

The double drivers in the FX1000 must have been
    just wishful thinking.

It is an awesome idea though.
Maybe it can be called the FX2000?

man that would be a expencive and large speaker like around 800 each. now if you were in to sacd or dvd audio that would be good but for ht. a little over the top. i think the markup was a little much for the fx 1000 that is y i went with the 500. the 500 are good but i think the 300 are a little weak. you get so much more for the 500 vs the 300 and not that much more in price.

True, but I was looking at the discount over MSRP. It's all about perspective!:D That's the only way to rationalize this irrational hobby.
