Question on Digital Coax cable experience

Anyone notice any *difference* in upgrading their Digital Coax cable from the run-of-the-mill 75 ohms certified (breaded or non breaded) to a higher-end (i.e. Signalcable Digital Silver Resolution - http://signalcable.com/silverresolutiondigital.html

I can see the benefit of upgrading Analog cables, but Digital I am not so sure (other than better noise rejection for longer run beyond 3 footers, better build quality, etc. etc.)

Anyone care to share their experiences, opinions, thoughts?
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

What are you using it for? If it's just from the wall to your cable box, it probably doesn't really matter. I asked a question about this a ways back (I was re-wiring the cable in the house), and it was pointed out to me that the run-of-the-mill stuff is used to get to your house, so you really don't get anything by using something better after that.

Digital Coaxial cable from your source (DVD, BD, CD, etc.) to your AVR/Processor, as opposed to Digital Optical. Just curious since the cable "supposedly" only carry "0" and "1" before it gets converted via DAC in your AVR/Pro.

You can actually have the best of both worlds, IMO; Belden 1694A from Blue Jeans cable. No coaxial (RG6) spec's out better than Belden with respect to true 75 ohm specifications/bandwidth/noise rejection capability. My 1 mtr cable was $24 bucks I think--BNC to RCA. I compared this cable to:

    DH Labs D-75 ($69)
    Signal Cable ($29)

...the belden had a more neutral/smoother presentation without any loss in articulation. Treble is outstanding thru the belden.

so, Stevie, what you're saying is that you can hear the difference between these Coax Digital cables?

Yes. Subtle for sure, but for example--the DH Labs was a bit drier, less 3 dimensional sounding; treble wasn't as smooth as with the belden. Surprisingly the cheaper Signal cable digital coax was much closer to the belden as far as my system is concerned. The Signal Cable coax is also a heck of a deal.

If you want to try my DH Labs D-75 or the Signal Cable coax, PM me your address--I'll send it out to you. It's a 1 meter length.

Cool, I don't know that it makes a difference. Thanks Stevie!

psst, btw, I use a Signalcable Analog II for my Digital Coax. It works fine, no hiccup at all. I wonder that's why I asked.

Thanks for your generous offer, Stevie, lemme think about it, since I don't want to impose on you (yet) :)

There may be no difference between the Signal coax and analog II, you'd have to ask Frank to be certain. I have never tried any Signal analog cables, but I really respect their coaxial and AES/EBU digital cables--I've used both extensively, and they sound fantastic. If I had any XLR equipment, I know where I'd be buying my cabling!
