Newbie Question On SDA-2

A local vintage equipment store is selling a pair of SDA-2 for $325. Claims all surrounds have been serviced/replaced, grille covers re-clothed, and he has a long and solid reputation. Also comes with the SDA wire. Is that a fair deal? What is a reasonable price to pay for them?
Also, I have an Onkyo Integra A-809 integrated amp - will that be a good match?
Thanks very much!

ummmm,, a wee tad high,,, I just picked up a pair of mint SDA2's for a fellow polkie,,he paid alot less,,which was in fact a very good deal. The grill cloth is understandable,,specifically what did he do with the drivers? Replaced? If you bide your time you may be able to get a better deal on another pair,,or offer the dealer, say 100 less than he is asking. Just my .02 worth,,good luck.JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

I own a pair of SDA 2's and can't get enough of them. I only paid $200 ( down from $300) for them but the sound is worth much more.
$325 is a little high for what I have seen before but to be honest, you won't find sound like that ( considering they are in good shape) for speakers twice that price. So, if you are in the market for some unbelievable sound its still worth it in my opinion but you could also wait it out and get a better deal.
Good luck with your purchase!

Any thoughts on the A-809 to drive the speakers?

The first "red flag" is....why did they re-do the surrounds, they're rubber and don't as a rule need to be messed with, like the ones made of foam. I got some vinyl covered 2-Bs w/cable off of ebay that were close to me for pick-up for IIRC $167.00 bone stock and never "messed with". I'd get them to clarify what was done to them and demo them too if I were you. Good luck!!:)

I bought mine for $100 on craigslist ,the seller intially wanted $180. He lowered the price when he found out how much I liked them and that they would receive a good home. They are in great condition and I love them. I would offer him less like the others have said. What is the RMS for the SDA 2? I know they are 4 ohms and the Polk Tech told me around 350 watts RMS.Is that right?Main theater : Pan 54 G10, Onkyo 805, UPA 7, Carver TFM 45, Sony BDP 350, Polk SDA 2 s, Polk CSi A6, Polk RTi4 (X 4 ), Velo CHT 10 (X 2), APC H15.
