I've noticed sometimes when adding a external amp it doesn't seem any louder but the sound quality is a lot better. Your also feeding them speakers clean power.

I am actually in similiar situation. I have the same speakers and I am looking for some advice on a external amp as well. I currently are running mine on a denon avr887.

I have a Emotiva XPA-5 hooked up to mine and couldn't be happier I have had a modified Carver 1.0T that was really good as well and a Rotel 2 channel amp that was also good. So far the best has been the Emotiva if you just wanted power for the two RTi-12's I would get the XPA-2. Or a nice rotel amp that at least has 100-200 watts.

hmm...ive connected a pair of JBLs along with the RTi12s and the NAD seems to be a bit drained for power . Will involve the Sunfire Amp to pep it a bit. Thanks fr the advice .
Does anyone hknow why did polk actually discontinue the RTI12s,These are amazing speakers.
