Polk SRT System - issue with F/X surround speakers

I have the Polk SRT system for about 1/2 year. I got an incredible deal on the package and frankly for the deal I wasn't really going to worry at the time where I was going to put them or whether my wife was going to approve of them. Well it looks like I will be selling them to get something my wife approves of for the family room. But before I do that I am fully restoring them and have a question for anyone who has the F/X surround speakers used with these.

I have been testing the rear surrounds and very oddly the same tweeter on each speaker is not putting out any sound. There are two tweeters in each surround speaker and it is the one facing forward on each. I took out both tweeters and swapped them - front one now is in the facing back direction, and the back one is facing forward. I did this on both speakers to see if the issue was the tweeter. Remarkably the front facing tweeter (which was the back one) still does not put out sound on both. I find this very intriguing as what is the likelihood that both speakers do not have blown tweeters, and don't put out sound on the front facing tweeter. Seems like a manufacturing issue that the prior owner likely just did not notice.

Let me know if anyone had the same issue and how they resolved this. My guess is I will need to send them back to Polk for repair. I am hesitent to do this and would like to repair them myself if I could.

    I have already confirmed that all tweeters are fully functional. Any tweeter connected the front facing leads does not work on both speakers. I did that test specifically to determine if it was something wrong with the tweeter or crossover in the speaker. Has anyone else ran into this with the F/X Surrounds?

    How handy are you with a soldering iron?

    Pop both crossovers and look for a burnt resistor or leaky cap.

    Do those speakers have a switch for dipole/bipole? Maybe the tweeters are "off"??

    Just thinking out loud here. I have no idea if this makes sense or not.

    I am fairly handy with a soldering iron. Thanks for the tip and will let you know how that goes. Thanks

    They do have a switch for bipole/dipole and I did tried that. If that was the solution polk would have incorrectly wired them up as dipole/bipole would still have both tweeters firing in both modes. Thanks for the idea though - we were both thinking down the same road.
