    I take silence means a lot!! :D

    Cross that 602 receiever out...

Will 606 ($359, Brand New and in silver, at amazon) able to run LSi or RTI a9 (5.1 or 7.1 all in LSI or RTI a series) connected to Emotiva XPA-5 or 3 amp? This setup will be 90% HT using HDMI from PS3 to my TV.

or should i go for 805 the two dudes are selling for $450 and 500 w shipping (the 805 offered is refurbished).. Whatcha think I should go for? Will 606 able to run at 4 ohms?

Will I need stuff provided on onkyo 805? or will my wife and i be happy with 606? Curt is not online right now lol

The 606 doesn't have pre-outs, so you won't be able to connect to XPA amp.

You would need to go with the 70x level to get pre-outs on the Oinkers.

ok thanks for clearing up! I guess 805 is better choice for 500 bucks?

am working on $ strategy right now, damn bills you know? I figured id get receiver first, to play around its settings with my sony htss2000 htib speakers until tax comes in, then decide which system i want to buy (LSi or Rti A).

I myself have the 806 and it is awesome. You will not be dissapointed if you decide to get the 805/806. You get pretty much all you could ask for in a mid to upper level range receiver, without the price tag most comparable receivers have.

why is 805 more expensive than 806? is 806 the upgrade than 805? Im soooo sorry for these noobie questions... i never had an receiver before.. except for my htib(very basic)

Yes, the 806 is basically an upgraded 805, kinda like a half year model in the auto industry. If you want to compare the differences I will attach a few links at the end of this post. The 805 was one of the receivers I was going to buy when I was shopping around and that was about the time the 806 came out. I picked up the 806 for around $750 at the time with a 5 year warranty, now they go for about $650. However, there are a few refurbished models available for around $600, I'll give you a link to that too. I am very impressed with the 806's overall performance, and am very happy so far with my purchase.

Link to the Froogle search for the 806....http://www.google.com/products?q=onkyo+tx+sr806&scoring=p&sa=N&start=0

I have no idea why the 805 is more expensive than the 806, IMHO the 806 is better, I like the weight difference though the 805 is almost twice as heavy as the 806.

Join club Onkyo and look for a refurbished. As a member of the club you get a discount (I think it's 10%) and double check, but I believe the refurbs have a warranty if you buy direct from Onkyo.
