Hi all, just curious if the level 4+ on the 5400 versus the level 4 on the 5300 is worth the price jump. I have my eyes on both of these units but just wanted some input from some people that may have experience with them. Thanks in advance. PS know anyone with a pair of black rti12 s?

I have the 5300 and am very happy with it. Paid $250 from tweeter when they were closing out their stores. I guess its all on what your budget is. Im more on the practical side of things. If you have all top end stuff then its worth it to spring the extra couple hundred bucks to get the most out of it. I have mid range stuff and feel that i am getting the most out of my audio video equip with the 5300. Honestly how much of a difference is it going to make with cleaning up the audio/video? Will the average person actually be able to tell the difference? thats my two cents. good luck.

I have 2 5300EX and 1 5300PM. The 5300PM has both a voltage and amp meter, while the 5300EX only has a volt meter. However, you can turn off the meter and power lights on the 5300EX , but only dim the lights on the 5300PM.

I wonder if the current meter on the 5300PM really works. At idle with nothing turned on it displays .9 amps. With the Sony 7100ES (pre-amp), Sunfire TGA-5400 (5 channel amp), and Sony 9100ES (DVD) operating, the amp meter displays a total current draw of 1.5 amps. The Sunfire is driving 4 LSi15s, and an LSiC.

How does Panamax compare to Belkin Pureav PF60 or APC H15? And what is the difference between AC regeneration and automatic voltage regulation?

My 5500EX shows between 0.7 to 0.8 amps with everything off. But not everything is really off. I have power adaptors plugged in, My DVR is always on.

Good point. Tivo is also plugged into my 5300, and it is possible the 'turned off' cable box is drawing some current.

i have 2 of the 5400's. I do not have any experience with other brands but they are a wonderful piece of equipment. I got one of mine at tweeter's going out of biz for $250 as well. My favorite function is the abbility to run a 12 volt trigger to it from my receiver so that it turns on my amps when the receiver is turned on.
