A wise man one said, "Those that don't know, don't know that they don't know."

Many that have come before you, saying the same thing, have had to eat their words.

    Happy listening.

I think some of this behavior would qualify as a disorder:D $2300 for a couple feet of speaker wire:eek:$30k for a amp:eek:,I have this same discussion with the people on a car forum. You can only do so much with a part, and a part can only do so much. The rest is just overkill:)Had a nut job on my car forum pay $52 per spark plug. I promise you that if he were to take it to the track before and after putting these in there would be no difference. But in his mind, he thinks there is. I really do not think most of you can tell a difference in half of what you think you can. You may think you can, and so be it, but it does not mean it is so. I do not get mixed up in all of this, it is futile. So, no, I have no plans in rebuilding these, or buying $10k worth of speaker wire. Yes, good cable from Lowes will do just fine:) Sorry if I have offended anyone, not my intention.

I don't think Lowes is really the right source for speaker wire. Believe me...there is a difference in quality speaker wire. I was using regular cheap zip cord to hook my speakers up, up until about 2 weeks ago. I got some better wire...not even real expensive stuff...about 60 cents a foot. It's Stinger brand...and the difference in my sound quality after swapping the cables was like night and day.

The cheap wire is what it is...it's cheap. It's by no means adequate for hooking up an expensive speaker like the SRS. I swapped to the better wire, and immediately noticed a difference in clarity. My usual listening volume was around 40-42 on my receiver...after swapping the wires, there was such an increase in volume and clarity that my normal listening level is now more like 32-34. The range of the speakers was greatly improved to...high notes sound like they're supposed to...nice and crisp, rather than sounding weak and fuzzy. My bass output has gotten much better too...cleaner, louder...instead of being muddy and muffled.

As others have said. You have much to learn yet. So do I for that matter though.

Like I said before...stick around here for a while and before you know it you're gonna be buying some expensive speaker wire and upgrading your tweeters, and the caps and whatnot on your crossovers. Just wait.:D Upgradeitis is going to hit you...

thanks for all of the help everyone. What I am going to do is just simply hook up my SDA SRS's and enjoy them. That is pretty much it. :p

And I'm sure you will...that is until you decide that you're ready to enjoy them even more. Then you'll be back...:p
