S10 or Monitor 10

Been looking around... Which is better for a 2 channel rig for just music, the old S10 or the Vintage Monitor 10? I'm guessing the Monitor 10, but how much of a difference? I'm not really looking to get a sub right away.

    Haven't heard the s10's but I have a pair of Monitor 10's and they sound great.

    Awesome, thx. I think I'm gonna go with the Monitor 10's. Can anyone compare the different types of them (Series 2, 10A, 10B, etc?)

    Millionaires keep their Monitor 10's if that says anything about them. There is plenty of threads on this forum about them too. Buy the way ,I own 2 pr.:D
    Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

    This forum has been great.

    Seems that the Monitor 10A with the Peerless tweeter (black tweeter) is the most sought after version.
    I have owned both the 10A and 10B, and they are both good IMHO.
    See the picture below for the 10A with the Peerless tweeter.

    If you get a pair you will find they sound better on speaker stands about 10" to 12" off the floor and a slight tilt upward. You can find them here on Club Polk if you search and are patient.:)

    Some Monitor 10's on ebay right now...the appear to be the 10A's with peerless tweets, but I'm not an expert. Look like they're in pretty good shape. Just a heads up for ya if you're interested.

    Let me know how you like 'em. I'm looking to get some vintage Monitors after I complete my RTi home theater setup. Still trying to decide what I want to get though. Probably either Monitor 5jr+'s, Monitor 7C's or Monitor 10A's. All depends on my budget, and which deal comes around at the right time.

    Alright man. I'll give you the scoop once I get them hooked up to help you decide. I haven't heard much bad about them though. Other than neighbors not liking them or they play too clearly and loud ;) I'm still lacking an amp to power them. I just wanted to grab them because I think they were gonna be one of my harder to find items since they were vintage. (new ones are posted every day though) My friend is letting me borrow his receiver to test 'em out to see that they aren't DOA, and I'll for sure report back what I think. Thanks again for the hook up;
