Hi there,
Just started gigging out with my band following a change to a new female vocalist. So far, I think things are sounding really good.
Have a look at our Youtube footage here:

Not bad, not great. Slow down. I've seen more than a few bands in my time and the really good ones know "the right pace".
I am trying giving a constructive perspective (that sounds much better than constructive criticism) - slow down, rock out, and enjoy entertaining the folks that are there to participate in your success.
What are you playin'? -
Yes, I do like. To answer the original question.

Hi dave,
Thanks for the feedback. Which songs do you think are too fast?
BTW I am the rhythm guitarist to the right edge of the frame.
Cheers,

Sounds very good, but I see Dave's point.
I think Rebel Yell started out at the exact right tempo, until the drums come in. Too fast from there on. (It's easy to do when adrenaline kicks in):D Not an easy song for a female to pull off. I think she did well, but could "gruff" it up a bit. (without doing physical damage, of course)
All Right Now was definitely a bit fast. Some songs benefit from the adrenaline, IMO this isn't one of them.:o (The gritty feel of the original gets lost)
(minor nit-pick) Are you Gonna Go My Way is desperately missing the flanger in the middle section-you know the part.:)
I could hear very little to critique in the rest of the tunes. Tempo was where it should be. They had a very close approximation of the original guitar sounds/effects. All in all, very good covers. You guys have good chops.
It's not easy to incorporate a female singer into a band who covers male-voiced songs. You have to make sure she sounds great at all of the ones she sings, or drop that song(s). Because no matter how good you guys play the music, if she sounds so-so, you will all sound bad. Of course, that applies to all singers-male or female. -
Lead singer has the Pat Benatar voice!
Nice rendition of rebel yell.
Not bad at all......singer is pretty hot too!!:D
Like to hear a studio CD.
Sorry Guys but stuff live rock don't sound as good to me.
Only "live" music I ever liked was Nirvana Unplugged.

She's the highlight of the band, slow those songs down just a bit and let people hear her voice. You guys appear to all be decent musicians, but I don't see Danny Carey sitting behind the kit or Satch playing lead guitar, so it appears that she's going to be the focus of the band - you need to slow it down a bit so we can really hear her voice.
I'd also recommend throwing in some songs written for female vocals. Take a look at someone like Heart and see if anything there interests you.
Do you guys plan to write any original tunes, or are you going to stick to covers mostly?
Overall, I'd say you have the ingredients of a good band, just need to figure out where your strength lies and build on that. -
Thanks everyone for your specific observations. I really appreciate the feedback. Will share with the rest of the band to focus some attention on these areas.
Much appreciated!
Mark
