LSI25 impedance vs 8 ohm amp
I'm thinking of buying a pair of LSI25 but it's rated 4 ohm and my amp is 8 ohm. Did anyone try it on an 8 ohm amp? Really appreciate any helps.
Thanks,
Phil

What kind of amp is it? Most amps - while usualy advertising an 8 ohm load - can handle 4 ohm loads.

I'm using the Yamaha RX 800 100x5. But my 2 main channels were driven by 2 Audiosource Amp3 bridged mono for 400 watts each.

The Audiosource website says that those amps are stable to 2 ohm loads. Those should be fine to drive a pair of LSi25's.
If you are just using the Yamaha receiver, then you will still be "ok" - but for optimal sound use your Audiosource amps or other seperate amps for the LSi25's. -

If you are planning on using 4 ohm speakers for the amps, check to see if your amps can handle the 4 ohm load when in bridged mode. -
Thank you for the info. Originally I used the Citation 22 for driving my SDA 1C (6 ohm). But the Citation went bad after 15 years of service. Then I bought 2 x Amp3 after I read a good review somewhere. They worked great without the interconnect cable. Now I'm thinking of selling my SDA 1c and going for the lsi25. But now I'm facing the 4 ohm load which's even harder than the 6 ohm. I'm also thinking about the Kipsch rf-7 (8 ohm). But I really like the sound of Polk's speakers.

Here I'm back after 7 years! I did finally buy the Polk LSI-25 in 2007 for $1800 on Ebay, black in color. I drove the pair with the Denon 5800 receiver using the 2nd zone for 2 channels for music listening only. I used the other 5 amp channels for home theather for movies with Kappa 8.2 for the front, Klispch rc7 for center and smaller Klisch for the 2 rear channles. My dedicated HT/music combo room is rather large it's about 15x27 feet. I use LSI25 for listening to music mostly classical and jazz. The Denon 5800 rated 8-6 ohm only. But it's been 3 years and I didn't have any problem with the speakers or the receiver. I listened almost daily. The Denon 5800 didn't even get hot. The LSI25 sounds great! Deep bass, sweet mid and transparent high! I set the LSI25 bass amp at 2 o'clock on both the power and the crossover so that I wouldn't need much power from my Denon (and looked like it worked!). I'm very happy with both the lsi25 and denon 5800! Strongly recommended.

Wow! Talk about a follow-up post! How loud do you listen to your music? I like it loud and would be hesitant about using an Avr to push my lsi towers. The distortion could ruin the tweeters.LIVING ROOM:

You aren't getting anywhere near the full potential of those LSi's by driving them with an AVR. Good to hear you're enjoying your speakers...but you would be enjoying them a LOT more with a proper external amp.
Also, the setting on the LSi25's internal amp is going to have no effect whatsoever on the way it interacts with the Denon. The 25's have internal amps to drive the woofers, thus the Denon has nothing to do with powering them. You could crank the volume knob on the 25's woofers all the way up, and it would have no adverse affect on the Denon(not that I'm suggesting that you do that...just saying...). The Denon is responsible for driving the mids and the tweeters...and the settings on the 25's internal amps isn't going to have any affect on the way the Denon drives the mid/tweet array. The nirvana inducer-
