BD5805-W anyone know what driver this is
Hi everyone,
Still working on the replacement drivers and with the holiday period dragging on a bit but we are looking at repairing some of the old drivers I have lying around so not sure how many of the MW5556 drivers I will be using.
I pulled all the drivers out of my SRTs and found one was different to the rest, instead of being a MW5805 it is a BD5805-W, anyone know what this is from?
It has a slighter thicker magnet on the back of it but otherwise looks the same, I wonder if the MW means mid woofer and the BD means bass driver, maybe a newer run of the original drivers, I do know Polk have been known to change numbers on rerun drivers.

I'm thinking you're right about that. If I remember corectly, Polk used the BD 5805's as the low freq drivers in their bookshelf speakers from about 15-20 years, or so ago.
