I learn lessons everyday ATC. I learned one like this, grown ups stick together. Bottum line. I said something that wasnt true, I now know that. Don't mean u gotta sit here and just knock me to the ground. I THINK *FRIGGIN P-R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T* BUSH is a MORON! That is what *I* not u..*ME*...that is what *I* think! WHAT THE EFF IS WRONG WITH THAT? I dont care if he passed school with flying colors and was never in trouble, I dont think he is exactly the brightest egg in the box. He brunette of the blondes. I dont think hes close to being the very smartest man alive. Besides my story of mr cannon is false, *partially*. The end of how and what he did is fairly true in all accounts. I dont see yall killing my points of why MR. P-R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T Bush is not bright in some areas. Yall arnt even commenting on it. And besides the fact all yall have cutted down on me is my f*** ups and disrespectfulness of not calling him P-R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T Bush. If thats all u have to say about what I say. Then I take what I say is true. And u know it. Stop hiding behind a stump and stand away from the crowd. If you go somewhere, late and everyone sets u up. They ask u question, and everyone they call on, gets it wrong - and u know for a god given fact what the heck it is....what are u going to say? what it is...and what everyone else says it is? HUH? For all I care P-R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T Bush can do what he wants, but if yall dont watch the news, do you actually believe AMERICA can AFFORD another WAR? ATTACK? HUH? DO YOU? I DONT! Why? BECAUSE THATS WHAT *I* THINK! Now, if you have nothing else to say about what *I* think, and not what I f*** up about then this is pretty much settled.Damn you all, damn you all to hell.......

First off, stop using your age as a crutch. It is quite tiresome, along with the rest of your antics. You may feel all of us grown-ups stick together... perhaps one day when you have had a chance to grow up for yourself and begin to achieve understanding.
No Trey, we are not picking on you. You are bringing this on yourself.
My last comment to you in this thread:

Just be sure you thank President Bush and all those who serve for allowing you to live in a country were you can say the above and not be locked in a 6x6 for the rest of your life.
There are many things I disagree with too, but I love my country and wouldn't want to have to live anywhere else.
In four years, you will have to right to vote, so if there is something you don't like, then you have a chance to change it. You can even go further and run for a elected office and if I like what you stand for I might even vote for you. Isn't it great to be an American!!!Political Correctness'.........defined

"Read more, post less" means don't post 2 (sometimes 3+) times within the span of 15 minutes(oftentimes without anyone posting after your most recent post).......and certainly don't do it 4 times in the same thread. I can relate with not being that much of a political person, but where Jstas has intelligent thoughts on the subject, you retaliate with "I THINK *FRIGGIN P-R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T* BUSH is a MORON!" You admit that you hear your dad and his friends opinions and "After hearing it all, I agree." You really don't have much real life experience that warrants what you're spewing about this.
The points people are making are to be a little more involved before you go ranting about what your dad and other friends believe. Citing who you're taking your opinions from won't really lend any validity to yours, especially if it's ultimately........borrowed.comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
It's obvious that this country is very divided over what to do with Iraq. And again Hollywood is stepping in shoving their ads down our throats. A few more people to boycott at the theater and Blockbuster. (Get the freak over it Susan Sarandon, and btw why did you not show the poor little kids that died by Saddams gas attacks in your ads?)
Ok I had to get that little part off my chest. Anyways I see a few things that bother me a bit.
1) It's easy to see that GWB is in a no win situation. But he feels his actions are the right thing to do, and come hell or high water he's going to do them. But I remeber in 1998 and Clinton bombed Iraq for four days. Clinton at the time stated all the things that GWB is stating now...."A need to get him out of power, a need to destroy the chemical, biological, and nuclear facilities....etc..." Why did no one protest then? (Personally I think he did it to get the country focused on something else besides Monica) Is this not a double standard?
2) What happens if we don't invade and two years down the road Saddam attacks Kuwait, Iran, or Israel with a biological weapon or heaven forbid a nuke. That is something I hate to ponder. The what will the extreme left wing say then? That we should have seen this coming?
3) If you love GWB or hate him you have to respect the restraint he showed days after 9/11. He had every right to throw the gauntlet down on the likes of Afghanistan, Iraq, and any other country that is known to harbor terrorists. (including Pakistan, Syria, Iran, and numerous African countries) He could have sent these third world countries to the stone age, and most countries would not have said a word. Yet he didn't. He proved to a country in mourning and anger what a leader he is.
4) Before 9/11 the economy was starting to slip, not a lot, but the internet hay day and IPO buy fest was coming to a screaching halt. Signs that Wall Street forcasters were predicting for over a year. (Find Time magazine in mid to late 2000, and early 2001, they saw this coming a mile away.Telling inverstors to diversify their stocks, and not hold it all in Tech stocks like everyone was doing) The week after 9/11 it took a free fall in which the country has yet to recover from. With the added debacles of Enron, Arthur Anderson, and many other big companies that lied on their books, sent the economy into a further tailspin. The Dems. blamed a lot of Republicans for this action, yet most of the financial fudging went on during the Clinton Administration. (not blaming Clinton) All these events went on during a republican administration, but do we really believe, considering all the events I just mentioned, that we would be better off financially as a country with Gore in charge? Probably not.
What makes this country great is that we can debate all these topics. But whatever comes down the road I know I will stand behaind GWB. I may not like him, and I did not vote for him. But he has proved to me that he is the best leader for this country right now. -
Personally I think he did it to get the country focused on something else besides Monica.

1) JD is not a doctorate, I don't believe. There is a difference in doctorate and doctor. As in, I am a doctor of pharmacy candidate.
2) I will not reveal my political standings, but I miss Clinton in that he was one heck of a speaker. Bush is average, but Clinton could really deliver a speech. -
I'm going to barrow a classic RuSsMaN®-ism here:
Ø Note to self no more threads dealing with politics
Ø and while youre at it tour, add religion as well<
A great deal of good posts here and a great deal of less-thans IMO. What was intended to be an appraisal of Our Presidents State of the Union performance has turned into a slugfest, which I admittedly participated in, but, at least Id like to think, at a slightly different level than many subsequent replies. That said; let me add my final thoughts to the expanded theme
The one thing I will remember from this tread is: disagree with, even disrespect the man in the office, but always respect the Office of the President of the United States (POTUS for you West Wing watchers). No, Sid did not refer to President Bush as President, but how many of us did? Look at the title of thread. Right off the bat I didnt, and I should have. I will not repeat my mistake in this post, or hopefully in the future.
Smart, dumb, whatever you think of our President, hes doing a job I cant even imagine doing. And I believe this is true of most involved in this thread, if not the entire Club. One thing that seems to have escaped comment in this thread was his appearance. Noticeably thinner to me, and I thought perhaps fitter, but in conversations Ive had, more than one has said, tired looking. I now believe that they were right in their observation. The burden of the Oval Office is extra heavy these days. How many of us would believe that we would ever look back upon the Cold War era and say we felt more secure back then? Not I, and I did.
In the last three elections I have voted for, in order: Ross Perrot, Former President Clinton and President Bush. As I stated in the first post, I am an independent. In the 99 election I felt that President Bush had his limitations, intellectually and otherwise, but that he understood them better than any of his critics. He showed me this while governing my now home state. I expected him to show it again as President, and I believe he has. Both then and now he showed it to me by surrounding himself with top-notch people and listening to them. To me, this is the first key to a successful presidency. I will argue that it was Former President Clintons biggest strength as well. Different advisors and ideals, yes, but the same key strength.
My second key? Build a consensus around any plan you wish to put into action. Again I will argue it is a strength both our current and preceding President have in common. This is why I believe President Bush has the goods to convince the world that Iraq is the imminent threat he claims it is. The degree to which we have, and continue to mobilize our armed forces can lead me to no other conclusion. The consensus support of the free world is coming. And when it does, we go
And when we go, N. Korea will get the message as will a number of lesser potential adversaries. N. Korea is not te one you want to tangle with 1st, 2nd, 12th And once we are done making the world once again safe for democracy attention will return to domestic matters. All long as out President is consensing with Greenspan, well be OK here, too.
Im out .More later,

One thing, then Im done with this topic. First off I respect the elders that faught in the war, and the current people of america that are fighting in this current war. However, until President Bush picks up a gun and President Bush himself shoots it and kills a man that is against the united states, and not him sending people to do it himself. He is just a man putting his life on the line everyday. I repsect him in everyway. I just think what President Bush does is pretty darn stupid. I dont care if you agree with me or not. - IMO! IMO! A Juris Doctor degree is a doctorate degree.
Your Pharmacy Doctor (PharmD) degree is a doctorate degree.
My Doctor of Medicine degree is a doctorate degree (still working toward it).
In reply to the remarks about Bush handling the situation with 9-11 well, I will agree with it. I will commend Bush for his anti-terrorism efforts. My remarks were solely intended toward the rhetoric that is spilled at every State of the Union address that has come about.
I fully support a war with Iraq. Why? I think 10 years of time to disarm is enough. Hussein has made his people suffer long enough while he builds elaborate palaces, amusement parks, etc., and while he just shoots his military advisors in the head.
Once Iraq has been taking care of, we need to make sure every other country in the world isn't trying to develop NBC WMD. There are too many weapons of mass destruction out there already, and I don't even need to comment on the too many madmen in power that plague this country.Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. - Albert Einstein -

MX: By your logic I guess Presidents' Roosevelt and Lincoln were stupid as well? Roosevelt never got out of his wheelchair to kill ****'s or Japanese and Abraham Lincoln never went out on the battlefield and fought that I'm aware of. President's just don't do those kind of things because their job is to lead and guide the country and to do that they have to be somewhat removed from the "action". They need to be aware of it and acknowledge it but they need to have an objective view of what is best for the country.
I guess no point in debating this as you will continue to think as you want but hopefully with time you will become more attuned to national/world issues and will realize what this is all about. It is not about oil, the economy, or re-elections. It is about doing the right thing for our country even though it is not popular with everyone.
My grandfathers served in WW2- Marines and Army, I was in the Army, my son is in the USAF, my brother is in the SF. I understand......... -
No, I don't think P-R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T Bush is a moron for not picking up a gun. I think that makes him like every other person out here and it dosn't make him any more important than anyone else. I think he's a moron for all that he has done. He's wasted so much money its not even funny. The economy went from
to \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/! He is a moron for starting wars and such, i think it is great he reacted and bombed afghan. But he did not need to bomb the entire place. There was no need in that. He also did not need to give 10,000 dollars to each family that had a family member die. Insurance companies do not cover war, and 9-11 was war. Therefore P-R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T Bush and whoever else decided it are plainly and clearly are morons for that ordeal. Yes, a President's job is do what is best for the country! IN WHICH! Bush has not done that on the economical side - in the war side, he's done it.
"It is about doing the right thing for our country even though it is not popular with everyone." - That stands alone, P-R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T Bush has done alot of things. But just because he does one thing semi-right and the other totally wrong dosnt make him smart or a genious, it dosnt even him near bright. He is a borderlined moron. THIS IS MY OPINION! CLEARLY.....WHY THE EFF DO U CARE....
I guess yall dont think I understand that companies have been shown out in fraud, That people have been cheated out of their money. That companies are changing their records and such, that people were dropping out of the stock market because they were scared to spend their money because of all the stealing that had been going on. Yeah Yeah, I know that....DUH! Who dosn't....but giving 10,000 dollars to EVERY SINGLE family in america that lost a family member in thos towers is about the stupidest thing I've heard. That made insurance companies and P-R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T Bush seem like COMPLETE MORONS! Then you got the army bombing all of afghan, wasting MILLIONS in bombs on places that DID NOT need to be bombed.......
I think what I think because that is what I think, I may be wrong, but to all reasons of restraint to show what I think leaves me hellbound. Ill tell ya what I think, correct me if im wrong, but dont shoot me down. THIS IS MY OPINION. MY FINAL WORD. Correct me, argue me, but this is my FINAL word on this subject! and thanx to the dude that resurected this old post, you made my day alot better. I got a good feeling tho, the poster above read 5 posts and then replyed, he didnt read the whole thing because if he did he would know that my case was resolved and everyone had shot me down and showed me how and why I was wrong......Since now this is over I will go back to rocking back and fourth and looking straight ahead without blinking so I can become a P-R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T Bush addict and think he is god.

Don't expect a response from you as you have already said your final word...a couple of times actually but I did read the entire thread and in fact posted near the begining of it a couple of weeks ago.
I have no problem with you stating your opinion as long as I can state mine. I really don't care what you believe as it makes no difference in my life but I do have an issue with your apparent lack of respect for the leader of our country. He is not perfect nor do I agree with everything he does. I am not a fan of the government and I believe there is a tremendous amount of waste but much of the waste comes about because of the "need" to cater to special interest groups who feel under represented or believe they are "owed" something because of who they are. In my opinion we should individually take care of ourselves and not depend on the tax dollars of others to sustain those who won't work or to support those who have more children than they can afford but that is just my opinion.
Pres. Bush's intelligence is not really the question. Who are you to determine if what he has done is right or wrong? You are not privy to the information he is. You don't know what he knows. Maybe he could just flip the bird to all the terrorists on TV and that would make him smarter.....
Giving money to the families of 9/11 victims......no, the government didn't have to do that but it seems to me a damn generous thing to do. I haven't heard the $10,000 figure you mention but that sounds pretty low. It costs almost that much for a funeral. Of all the things my tax dollars go to that I feel are frivilous, that I don't mind paying.
You seem like a decent person who has a lot to learn. You may always feel the way you do now and if so that's cool as long as you feel that way based on informed information which I feel you are lacking right now. It seems to me you are only spitting out what you hear not what you have read, studied, and learned through life. Appreciate what you have and the fact that you can publicly say some of the things you have. Try doing that in Iraq or Taliban-era Afghanastan.
What the eff do I care???......I live here. -
I will respond to your reply. I respect everything you said. Now I'll clear this one fact up, I truly respect the fact you corrected me, and didn't bash me. You told me why you said what you said. Thats all you had to say. You corrected me, and left whatever you could of said to make me look entirely stupid out of the post. I completely respect that. Thats all I gotta say.

Not into politics at all here, but I am an American and a freedom lover to boot. My opinion is that the President that the American people have elected is to me doing the best that he can do, as would any American sitting in that position would. His speeches are written by people we dont see or hear, but they are the ones who get their info from the people who have their fingers on the pulse of what is really going on the international affairs department. The President has power overall, but basically he is little more than a "figure-head" over what Congress and the Legislature has to say about anything. And he would surely ask for experienced advice on what to do about the madmen overseas from the "old-timers" in Congress? You know he is chatting with Dad over all of this too. Basically, I think that he is doing ok with the pressure put on him and the crap that that must enter his mind every morning when he wakes up, "do we have the Soviet Union with us?, is France secure with my proposels? WTF is going on in Korea??" alot on the plate for a Texan.......LOL. The thing is....There are people on this planet that have so much power over their country that they can employ a law stating that a picture of them must be in the vacinity of veiw everwhere the people go. That there are "professional rapists" on the goverenment payroll. Leaders that won't let the public watch CNN or anything else, out of fear that the people will see just how f**ked their leader is. Public beatings by the "police" are commonplace. Only touching on highlights of what goes on, but these are crimes against humanity. I don't have a pic of the President in my house, my wife has never been raped, and my kids are able to watch Sponge Bob, my music room is filled with Polk and life is good......to keep this freedom in my house, ........................level each and every country that promotes those dictators.......can't we deal with topics of genocide and megadeath later? The Mid East is only "in the way" of getting our petroleum. The"inocent"are only violents waiting to happen, should we put them out of their misery before they grow up an become a pilot of a 747 that implales on the Pentagon 15 yrs. from now? Or should we take care of what is happening now and deal with all the 5 yr olds and the pre teens that are gearing up for their first gunfight against the people that they have been spitting and burning the flag against since they were newbornes?
