Mounting CSi-A6 in the wall (yes you read that right!)

So I had two weeks off from work for the holidays and started shopping. Now Im broke and the proud owner of a pair of A7s an A6, a DSW Pro400, an Onkyo 706, and have an XPA-3 ordered and on the way. Some FXi-A6s are in the near future. Ill probably be getting 2 pairs since I have a pretty open room (20x16 and vaulted ceilings). Anyway my main question is: has anybody ever mounted their CSi-A6 in a wall? Follow the link below to a picture of my setup for a bit more clarification. Ive got a cubby in the side of my house for a CRT style TV. Ill be boxing this in and mounting my 46" or 52" on it (shopping for that now). I was thinking of leaving a pocket open to slide my center channel in giving it a cleaner look. It will still be pretty airy back behind it for the ports so it will have good airflow. Is there any reason this would be a bad idea? Any suggestions/feedback would be great. Im thinking Ill have great sound and a clean look. :)

Nice setup. You got some serious toe in action going on with those A7's or is it just me.

Yeah there is quite a bit right now (less than there was before). Im still playing with the setup. I just hooked up the center channel and it made a HUGE difference.

They might be too far apart as well. Play around with the placement to see what sounds best.

The previous poster said it right. The speakers are too far apart (very close to the rear wall) and toe in is too much. I think you'll get better sound quality from

    1. Move the Speakers 1-2ft minimum from the rear walls.

    2. Bring (left and right) speakers closer so the distance between them is less than 10ft apart.

    3. More straightening the speakers so the toe in is not too much. You'll lose dynamic and stereo imaging if toe in is too much and the focal point reaches before your seating positing (which is usually called the sweet spot).
Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin:

Thanks for the advice. The speakers are now about 7 feet apart. I have them about 10" off the walls. Anymore than that and they just are sticking out too much. Shifting them in has definitely given the room a fuller sound. Ill be taking some new pics in a week or so once I get it completely setup and adjusted.

Anybody have anything comments/advice regarding my plans with the center channel?
