Are you looking for something like this:
http://www.dolby.com/consumer/home_entertainment/roomlayout2.html
From what I have seen on this forum, the placement is good but most people position the surrounds (rear and side) 2-3 feet higher than a listener's ears. -
thanks for posting... This thread is dedicated to fXI pics thread.

Thank you. Yes, it is in my home. The two rear speakers are cheap-o polk in-walls, as I hardly ever use the 7.1
The FXI A6 are more than enough, and I dont really like matrixing 5 channels into 7.
Here is a pic of the front:

I have the white fxi3's too, and I was a little worried about mounting them so close to a corner like you have them there, since one side seems almost blocked. Do they still give you the impression of being surrounded by the sound and not being able to pin point them?
EDIT: your last post came up while I was writing this. guess I have my answer -

mine aren't mounted yet- but that was one of the reasons. They will be my rear surrounds in a 7.1 setup, but my placement options are sort of limited by the room layout. That's why I was wondering how they sounded for him there. I'll probably stop being indecisive and get them up this weekend.

If I had a choice, it would not be so close to the corner...
They seem to perform just fine with one being so close to the wall though so I am happy. -
upstate, are your fxi powered by amp? Also, do you feel ur white fxi blended your wall well if you werent looking?I am 100% BORN DEAF and No I am not kidding! Why am I here? My wife's hearing!

That's good to know, I guess I won't worry about it too much then.
CaligulaPolk- you mean is the weight of the fix3 heavy? They are about 10 pounds each I think. I don't have 2 pairs though, only 1. My L/R sourrounds are a pair of JBL lx 22 monitors which I got from an audio engineer friend of mine for free before he moved. I hope to sell them off and get a pair of rti a3's at some point to match with the rest of my setup- but for now my next big purchase will be an amp. thinking about either the xpa-3 or 5. Man, this hobby is gonna make me go broke... -

They blend pretty well, they are good for the loft we are in right now (we can't/don't want to paint)... Once we buy another house in a few months I will look into painting them to match a new wall color.
