Do RTi4's need to be toed in?

I'm using RTi4's as my mains. I was wondering if they were designed to be toed in or straight forward. The Owners manual doesn't sat one way or the other. They actually show a diagram where they are facing straight forward in the equilateral triangle.

Thanks in advance.

I'd say toe in if your using them as the front mains, but I would play around with placement of the speakers until you get the best sound.

Best way to find out is to try it out and see which sounds better. It kind of depends on how far apart they are from each other, and how far they are away from your sitting position. If they're fairly close together they should be alright pointing straight forward. If they're spread out a decent amount though, you might want to turn them in 20 degrees or so.

Like I said though...just try it and see which you like more.

Interesting, when I was at fry's last week in their 'showroom' They had the rtia9's forward but the rtia7 toed. The rtia3's were also toed, and everything sounded good. Like others say just play around with them. Are they on stands? I don't know if you can toe hanging speakers without some special hanging method.

Thanks, guys. I guess I will try them out in different positions. They are hanging (some old pics are here). I need to seriously update my showcase gallery.

I am running an almost perfect equilateral triangle. The speakers are about 8.5 feet apart and about 8.5 feet from the "sweet spot."

What Sony AVR is that you're using? Or has that been 86'd hence the need to update the gallery?

I toe in my fronts but not the surrounds fwiw.
