    Google is your friend.....
Both the dogs in the movie are the same bread, it's not a mix as suggested, it's a Bichon Havanais.
The one you see at the end is a puppy and the first one, Fang, I guess is a full grown one.

The breed is about the same size as the Bichon Frise, although it's a completely different breed, they have not derived from one another.

Bichon Havanais, is at the name gives away, orginiated from Havana Cube

I just got one myself. Was a bit skeptical at first of the breed, as I've only had large breeds before, and my last dog was a German Sheppard, but they are a lovely breed. Very smart and they learn very quickly. They're not like other small breeds who have a tendency to run around and bark their head of at everything they see (which is in fact almost everything) Mine I've heard bark once in 4 months now.

Also a big plus, the breed is considered allergic friendly, as it doesn't have fur in the sense of other dogs, but rather hair like us humans do. They also don't the undercoat skin fat which allergics normally react to. I've tested mine on some friends that can't even be in the same room with a dog, and they get no reaction to it.

That said, they do require a large amount of day to day care. Once their puppy coat is gone, you need to groom them once every day to make sure their coats doesn't bunch up. They also need a to be bathed every 2 weeks with shampoo and balm, and since they don't shed their coat, they need to be trimmed about 3-4 times a year, depending on how long you want their coats. The dogs in the movie are trimmed very short, but then again, that's that I prefer on mine.

I have not seen the movie - but did it look like this???
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)

The best kind of dogs in my opinion are the mixed breed dogs people are giving away for free in the newspaper. Purebred dogs tend to be a lot more temperamental, and high maintenance in my experience. Not to mention that they can cost anywhere from 500-1000 dollars and anywhere on up from that figure.
