Just wondering what you guys/gals are up to tonight? Staying in? going out?

We are staying in as usual, Tonight is Duck breast with roasted grapes and chestnuts for main dish. Duck has been sitting in seasoning since last night.
I will crack open our bottle of Chopin to have a martini or two, a bottle of wine with dinner, for desert, it's a white choc pistaschio tart and a bottle of Lanson Black label champagne.

1/2 American , 1/2 Italian hero sandwich, couple of lbs. of salads, beverages of the non-alcohol variety.

Of course, I will be at work, so that's about as festive as it will get.

    Saty safe, everyone.
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Nothing exciting...........as has been said it's amateur night. Probably spend the evening with friends eating, drinking (within reason,,,,I think) and just hanging out.

New Years just doesn't have the appeal it used to. Cool to celebrate, but easily forgotten.

A nice quite evening home with the family. I will start with the Canada Junior hockey match and then the seafood party begins. We order fresh lobster in from the East coast every year, some shrimp, Alaska King Crab (we are talking huge here) and a few visits from some friends. A great evening. Happy New Year everyone.

Rock on, Mr. Grand! One of these days, I'll get you a good FRESH bag.

My plans are a little like this-

    Work 'til 4:30
    Go home
Wait for friends to show up at the house
Hopefully be piss-**** drunk by the time midnight comes around
Crash, and wake up around noon or later tomorrow.

We've got lots of liquor, a case of Yuengling, munchies, and we're making pork and sauerkraut with smashed potatoes for dinner. Yummy!

My plans? Not much of anything. I've done the going out thing before and just can't tolerate the amateurs. The girl wants to go to Penn's Landing for fireworks but she didn't tell me this until 3 or 4 days ago and it's too late to get tickets. She mentioned something about Times Square and I looked at her and said I may be nuts but I'm not crazy! I'll go anywhere else and tolerate the asshattery but there.

No friends are having anything and even if I did, no one would come because all of my friends work in the medical industry and they all work the holidays to get the extra money.

So I was planning to just sit around on my ****, maybe drink a beer, play a video game, I dunno. Not much in to December 31st festivities. However, New Year's Day, I am considering dragging the girl to the Mummer's Parade! If my building is open, they are gonna march right past us so I'm going to see if I can get a good vantage point!

I'm going out with the wife for an early dinner at 6:30 before the
crazies come out. Little place with a Jazz band. IT will be the first
time I've ventured out after dark on New Year's eve in many decades.

Family night with a movie. Can't stand getting out amongst the wackos. Just not my thing anymore. I did resolve to start drinking again, so I'll likely pick up a bottle of Wild Turkey 101 or some Appleton's Rum. When I drink, I play no games. Good **** or nada. For those that don't REALLY know bourbon, WT 101 is the most underrated bourbon out there.

I will also be sitting down and watching the junior hockey game. USA vs. Canada should be a good one. After having a few beer while watching the game I will entertain the wife and children by setting off some fireworks. They always enjoy watching me stumbling through the snow while I run for my life from the fireworks.

    New Years is amateurs night.

This is our first new years with the baby so were staying low key. My buddy who has been sober for a year now after falling off the wagon is coming over with his wife to hang out. The beer and liqour will be set aside for the evening. Will be a mellow night for us with some 360 and movie action and probably some board games.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy new years!

The girlfriend and I are going to see one of my friends bands play at a local bar. After that, one of our friends is having a party at his house with a couple kegs...so we'll probably be checking that out as well. Probably stumble back in my door around 6 in the morning...sleep until 3 in the afternoon tomorrow and wake up regretting going out last night...lol

    Should be a fun night.
