There is nothing like blending technology from the '50's with the '00's. I just got done listening to Aerosmith's Greatest Hits SACD from the DV47Ai into the Manley Labs monoblocks through the SDA-SRS! Damn! Can it get any better? As I'm sitting here after turning off the system the 8 EL-34's are crackling as they cool down. Kind of like listening to clocks in an old clock store. Click, click click, click... The room is now at a nice temperature and I'm about ready for bed. Good dreams are sure to follow! This must be what heaven is like! Sweet dreams everyone! Nighty nite.

Damn Chuck, are you open to visitors? Appointment only?

With your 2003 posts only, its gotta be a damn museam, a real chance for a pudknocker to get his learn on.

Are those EL-34's old? Are they spitting, or just cooling?

    Cheers,
    Rooster

(2ch tube rig coming in 2003 - can't FREAKIN wait)
Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

The clicking is kinda like when you turn a car off and you hear the exhaust click while it is cooling down. Much higher frequency though. Really cool! Some tubes do it, others dont.

Spitting is a totally different sound while the system is powered up. I've heard it a couple of times and it is no big deal.

Musieum? I don't think so. My system is very lean. The less the better. Add the turntable and you have the whole list of what I listen to.

    Lets see:
    Manley mono blocks: $1100
    SDA-SRS: $1000
    Michell table: $1500
    DV-47Ai: $700

$4300 (I'm sure many people here have more expensive systems)

max your killing me over here!

Its not about the cash but the planning, "I have heard the somewhere...;), and you have definetly put together a GREAT system that anyone would enjoy.

I'll bet your evenings go real fast.

It's not so much planning at this point as it is rotating through a bunch of amps, speakers and sources. There will always be groups of components which work better together than others regardless of price. A little planning doesn't hurt though.

OH BTW don't worry about the tubes cooling because thats normal. just don't try to cool them down to fast because it could break the seal.

EL-34s work for me. That teamed with a GZ-34 rectifier(forget that diode rectifier) and a pair of 7199s works for me. I'm still working toward that analog bliss and SACD.

    Oh yea,
Let me look for that manual, I forgot. I'll let you know. I'm thinking I may add rectifiers to the Manleys some day. I've done it to a Marshall Guitar amp and that wasn't too hard.

The only thing I got was a set of schematics. No manual. I'll send you a copy. Could be helpful in the future if something goes wrong since they are no longer in business.

Thanks! It could be useful. No rush though. Hopefully I'll never need them.
