I see a lot of entries with very low prices from Hong Kong and Canada. The sellers have good feedback with high volume.

What the hell am I missing. Prices just seem too good to be true.

A lot of times I see a very low BIN price with astronomical shipping. That has been my experience.

Yup, thats what I used to see.... now they say free shipping.

To me feedback is the backbone of good sellers. How they keep the high feedback scores is a mystery. There has to be a loophole in there somewhere.

It's like the guy said - FEEDBACK. I have purchased several items from Hong Kong with no problem. Again, the seller's feedback was high and strong.

As for those Canadians, those buggers need to be watched carefully. :D

My purchases from Hong Kong sellers have been trouble free.

Same here surprisingly. I've had less trouble with them than local dingbats.

Yep, me, too. No problems whatsoever ordering from Hong Kong or anywhere else in the world as long as the feedback is good. If it's less than 99%, I usually pass. Sometimes shipping is just as fast as stateside. I've ordered Iego power cords from Taiwan and they have arrived in 3 or 4 days.

Ordering should be product dependent, though. Some products are knock-offs, so you have to read those ads very carefully.

The only thing preventing me from ordering from overseas is the costs involved on defective merchandise if there's any sort of warranty for said items......

Of the items that I've seen, there wasn't a vast difference in cost (within a few bucks) of what was being sold here in the US so I always went the US route.........

I've only so far purchased CDs and SACDs off of HK ebay (the latest being the SACD/NTSC DVD of Genesis' "We Can't Dance"). $23.00 shipped. No problem at all.

hmmmm.....I may just try it. But the prices for the Audioquest Gibralter speaker cables is insanely low (under 200). Would anyone happen to own these and know if the original box is the same :)

I might just roll the dice and report back...Its hard for me to tell if this stuff is original or knockoffs, cant find anything in the fine print

Agreed as well. It's usually small things (CD's, camera cloths...) and I have never personally purchased any large ticket items from HK.

Perhaps just ask the guy if it is original. That way you have an audit trail should anything go wrong.

Ask to see packaging and original sales invoice if these were used. Packaging can also be counterfeited, just for your info. I have noticed enquiries on fake Audioquest cables on one of HK audiophile forums that I frequent on a regular basis. You may even have to contact Audioquest to get the right info.

I had to e-mail Mark Levinson, the man himself, thru Red Rose Music to confirm whether he was doing engineering work for a Nat "King" Cole vinyl release for one of China's record label....ML confirmed his involvement in this case.

That's where the stuff we buy comes from. They make it in China and Hong Kong.
It should be cheaper without all the U.S. middlemen.
Of course, shipping stuff one item at a time costs more.

Communiction from the sellers is a bit dicey, but they seem to want
    to be good businessmen.

Never trust those Canadians! Always up to their cheap trickery and whatnot... "but they're just so darn friendly!"
