Not much help I can offer other than to say it's a PC so you can use it as a digital media source, just like any other PC. It cannot function as an amp. To use it as a HT source you will need a 5.1 speaker setup. There are many 5.1 PC speaker setups you can get which already have a built in amplifier. I am guessing you have a DVD player in so it will play movies.

If you want to do quality music play back it will get more complicated (expensive) and involve a digital to analog converter (DAC), separate amplifier and speakers.

As for a remote for the PC I have no idea.
    AVR: Elite VSX-21TXH
    Amplifier: B&K 7250 Series ii
    Misc: Velodyne SMS-1
    Mains: RTi-10
    Center: CSi-5
    Rear: Boston DSi460
    Sub: SVS PC-Ultra
    TV: Panasonic TC-P58V10
    DVD: Panasonic DMP-BD60K
