i'm thinking about purchasing a 1055 or 1072 cd player, and a 1084 tuner, does anybody have any feedback on these components? Also does anyone know any websites that i could get them from, i have a couple rotel dealers around me but they dont carry these components.

    That 1072 is a fine cd player.And you can add a DAC to it if you want to later on.It has HDCD playback too!So if you add a DAC go for one that also has a HDCD option.Like an adcom GDA-700... here is link to a review. http://www.goodsound.com/equipment/rotel_rcd1072.htm

    Try audiogoN and ebay.I thuoght I saw one in our fm a few months back.

    I have the RCD-1072, and before that I had the RCD-855. You will be very happy with this player.

    The fellas have already posted Audiogon links for you to get one.

    How can you have Rotel dealers that don't carry their MAIN cd players???? Let them order you one from Rotel!

    If they refuse report them to Rotel!

    your probably right the store will more then likely order it for me.

    i noticed the 1055 and 1072 are the same price i was wondering if there is a difference in sound quality between the 2

    also has anyone used the 1084 tuner before or can you recommend another one

    One is a changer whereas the 1072 is single disc. I doubt there is a difference in SQ, but with a changer, there is more risk of something breaking with all the spinning around it has to do.

    What exactly makes something an HDCD player? I have a bunch of HDCD's...and they all play just fine in my regular CD player. Is it like SACD where you're just getting the regular mix with a regular CD player...but with an HDCD player you're getting an enhanced version?

    I was just looking at the Rotel CD players a few days ago and I was wondering about that.

    I have the Rotel RT1084 tuner (silver). I dont have alot of time just now but will get back to ya.

    It just means that if the cd is encoded to play HDCD's the Rotel will play them. I have maybe 2 HDCD discs and the little light comes on telling me that it is.
