I picked up a pair of Monitor 10 series II speakers for pocket money because the tweeters were blown (SL2500). To get an idea what they sound like I popped in a pair of old Polydax fabric dome tweeters I had on the shelf. In short, I like the the Monitor 10's. Would popping for the replacement RDO 194 be worth it and be that much better? If so, I'll go for it. Opinions? Thanks.

The replacement for the SL2500 is the RD0198-1. Of course, the proper replacement will sound better than what you are using. Is it worth the cost? You'll have to decide that one.

You are correct. I just checked my email from Polk and they are RDO198. I got a bit mixed up as I see the 194 often mentioned for other units. Indeed it is personal taste, but I was curious of what others thought as I have never had Polks before, so I have not had a chance to hear their tweeters. I must say these old Polydax's do sound good for their age. Neverheless, I think I'll go for a new set of 198's. With the club discount, the cost isn't too bad. I like what hear of the Monitor 10's. If they can sound better with the 198's, I'm all for it. Thanks for the response.

Are you in fact an F1 nut? A reference to Formula 1? Me too.
