RTi 10 Speakers vs RTI a9
what is the matching center and rear and surrounds for these towers(rti 10)? i just noticed that futureshop is selling a pair of these for 500.00cad on boxing day
i can get the rti a9 for 900cad or the rti 10 for 500.00cad
what are the pros and cons of each?

The rti a9's are a good all around speaker from the low end to the nice clean mids up to the bright tweeter. Good for both music and ht. Does not need a sub.
The rti 10 are goods as well. Has good low end and a little lacking in the midrange department, but otherwise a solid performer.
If you can fork over the cash I 'd say go with the rti a9's paired with the csi a6 center channel and either rti a3's or fxi a6's for the rears. -
You will have to give those 9's some serious power. As for the 10's they can run for a while off the avr you have. Either way you can't go wrong. But 500 cnd is about 375 am...heck for 400 bucks you can't beat the 10's....get a csi3 or 5 for center and some fxi3 or 4's for surround and sit back and enjoy. You can always feed the 10's some power in the future if you need. The 10's do carry a punch of bass if you don't have a sub for now. Go test them out if you can but trust me those 10's won't be there if you wait.Retired Onkyo 520 (returned broken HK 247)

im going to be using a yamaha htr-6190
if i grab the rti 10s and than decide in a few months i want the rti a9's can i always use my rti 10's as rear speakers??? -
Very beefy rears I would say. May be overkill but there are a few here that have RTi12's as fronts and 10's as rears. I would say at that point you will need an external amp to push all of those speaker. But get the 10's, if you don't like them for the money you spend on them there is a buyer here that will take them for about 100 bucks less that you pay for them.Retired Onkyo 520 (returned broken HK 247)
