Can anyone provide a side-by-side comparison of the above speakers? Which one do you recommend?

Is the rt20p the same as the rt2000p? That's the model that I currantly own, or was this a predessor.

    Thanks and regards

The RT20p was, aside from the SRT, Polk's first powered tower (I think). So, no, it is not the same as the RT2000p. It came out before it.

Aaron is correct, RT20P is the first power tower speaker in the series, the thing that confuse me that: the power sub in the RT-20p rated @ 100w, but the sub in the RT2000i rated only @ 50w? But according to Paul, the later 2000i is a better performer.

Don't forget that the RT2000i's and RT2000p's cost $300 less than the orignal RT20p which sold for $2000. My guess is they cheapened the amp to lower the price.

I wonder what the difference is as well. I have the RT2000p's and they have 100 watt amps in them. The RT2000p is the immediate predecessor of the RT2000i model.

I know the RT2000i's have real wood veneer and blue cone woofers, and supposedly have a slightly different version of the 1" trilaminate tweeter in addition to the "downrated" 50 watt amp, but I've not been able to hear the RT2000i yet to determine if it is better or worse.

If you are interested, Crutchfield has the RT2000i speakers on sale for $1,200/pair instead of the regular $1,700.
