Purchased music and reinstalling iTunes

I want to reformat my desktop, but I've recently bought about 30 or so songs from iTunes. What happens to that music? If I deauthorize my account on my desktop (don't I have to do that to reformat and reinstall iTunes?) and then reinstall iTunes, will I be able to redownload my purchased music? Or do I have to back it up somehow before reformatting?

Thanks!

Hi. I have been looking for an answer and I found one right from Apple. Here is a link for you. I know your computer did not crash but the end result will be the same. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Hahaha, thanks for both the links! I think since I haven't actually lost any music due to a crash, the simplest thing for me to do will be to burn my ~30 purchased songs to a CD and then just reformat. I was planning on reripping all my CD's anyways.

    Thanks!
