Luxman M-117 is a beast of a 2 channel amp...marketing blurb...
This stereo power amplifier employs advanced tech refinements that provide near perfect state-of-the-art performance...A total of 12 massive power transistors, configured in triple complementary pairs in each channel, provide very high power output into low impedence loads, differential FET input and pre-drivers, coupled to triple Darlington driver/output stage configurations, provides "voltage driven" typel amplification to ensure warm "tube-like" sonic quality

Whatever all that means, it does provide power in spades, punchy bass, incredible midrange detail and a slightly rolled off high end. Very sweet amp for all types of music.

200X2 @ 8ohms
700X1 @ 8ohms
Dynamic power: 300 @ 8, 550 @ 4, 820 @ 2
THD at rated power: 0.03%
IM distortion (SMPTE) @ 200w: 0.007%
Peak short circuit current: 150 amps
Slew rate: 20v/uSec
Damping factor: 130
>60,000uf capactitance

This amp will bridge and be stable @ 2 ohms

Weighs: 51lbs unpacked

Theres a scratch on the top right which may come off and a couple of blems due to wear and age, but the amp still looks great.

I hate to give this up...

$550 plus shipping for Polkies ... no bites and it goes to the gon.

Happy shopping - Merry Christmas

Thanks for looking :D:mad::D:mad::D:mad::D:mad:

Wish I could get that to replace my AMC. I have a feeling that it'd remind me og the ole P-Sound HCA series. Seems to have plenty of balls for just about anything.

Specs say it will handle bridged peaks of 1000/8, 1600/4 and 2000/2...yeah, I'd say it's got some balls, but it's got refinement too.

C'mon folks...this is a great amp. fredv sold his to leverage the purchase of both of the Adcom GFA555s he just sold. I had one of his Adcom's over here with the Luxman going head to head for a month and I greatly preferred the Luxman.

Wish I could Ron. You set me right in the AVS forums, and I should be picking up those SDA II's this week. I'm going to have to find a cheaper amp though, or wait a while to get one. My original plan was to pick up the RTi A5s, A1s, and a center. Now I'm going to have the SDA IIs, tweeter replacements for them (at least 2 are blown on the set I'm getting, can't wait to see how many more), amp, and whatever centers and rears. My project is getting a bit out of hand.

Thanks again though for pointing me in their direction.

Ron is a kuul dude! He pointed me in the right direction too, with a teeny bit of help from some other guys at AVS. I hope I get to try out SDA's at some point for myself.

So ... who's gonna buy the Luxman? :D
    Alea jacta est!

You've got some expenses with those SDAs. You should really replace all your tweeters. You'll notice the difference. Blown tweeters are probably due to loud playback and a seriously underpowered amp or receiver. If properly powered SDAs will drive you out of the room without a hiccup.

There's a sale pending on this amp. I'm trying to get top dollar for this amp elsewhere, but if it doesn't fly, bluecomet has dibs. I'll run the ad until the end of the week. After that, if bc still wants it, then it's his.

The m-117 amp is awesome. This Luxman amp paired with my SDA SRS 2's kicks some serious butt. I had my SDA SRS 2's paired with a Yamaha RX-V2500 and there is no comparison. This Luxman equipment puts newer audio equipment to shame.

Thanks Ron for hooking me up with this equipment it is exactly what I was looking for.
