Hello

When we play a blu ray disc on our ps3 we are getting black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. I've been through the settings but I don't really see any option in there to force it to do full widescreen....

Or is this normal for the playback to do this?

Thanks

I hate those damn black bars. At least with a SD-DVD I can stretch it to fit the screen.

why can't you do the same thing when watching from blu-ray? I can do that on my TV, but I usually don't. Black bars aren't the greatest, but I like seeing the whole picture and I don't usually notice them.

I usually just put up with them myself. Like you said, I like to know that I'm seeing the whole picture, and not missing any of it. After I watch for a few minutes, I don't even really notice them anymore.

Some TV's will not let you change the aspect ratio on HD content, but all will let you on SD content.

The black bars on the top and bottom are supposed to be there.

They always bothered me as well until I got my Pioneer Kuro Plasma. With a Pioneer Kuro you will not be able to see the black bars in a dark room. They just vanish into the dark room...;)
