Why doesnt FXi A6 come in Cherry Finish? Is there any reason behind on why polk chose white or black FXi A6 finish? RTI A items are in cherry finish except for FXi A6 and this made me wonder why?

I am considering this product and wish it came in cherry finish to match other speakers i plan to buy.

I beleive all other RTi series are wood laminate. The FXi is a composite or plastic.

The FXiA is a laminate but the rest of the series is a real wood veneer.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

The ones on my wall sure seem like plastic. Could be wrong.

I'm sure it would sound fine, if not better...it would probably make it considerably more expensive though if it were a wood finish. The cabinets on the FXi's have a lot more angles than the basically square shaped RTi's.

If you're set on the wood grain finish, look into either the RTi A1 or RTi A3. Either one would be great as a surround speaker. If you're set on the bipole/dipole configuration though, just get the black ones. Black will go with basically anything...so they wouldn't really look that out of place despite having wood grain on your fronts.

You wouldn't see any of the Cherry anyway most of the speaker is cover by the grill with the exception of the top and bottom.

That's a very good point...I didn't even think of that. It would be kinda pointless to make the cabinet cherry really.

If it matters that much, I'm sure you could get a pretty realistic looking decal to put on the top and make it look like it has a wood grain finish...lol

And now that I look...there actually is something that would work if you really wanted to do it. Heavyweight vinyl with a woodgrain finish printed on it. It has a sticky backing on it, and be custom cut for whatever size/shape you need.
