automatic amplifier trigger

I am getting ready to hook up my new equipement. Pioneer VSX92-TXH to a Parasound New Classic 5250. What are the pros and cons of the 12 volt trigger compared to the audio signal trigger? Which one is preferred? I assume either is preferred over manual.
Thanks,
Kenny

The 12 volt trigger makes it turn on when you turn on your preamp, where as the audio signal trigger makes it turn on when it detects an audio signal coming from the preamp.
Personally I'd go with the 12 volt trigger. It prevents the amp from suddenly turning on while it's already got a signal being sent to it. I'm not sure if that's even a big deal really, but that's how I see it.
Anyone correct me if I'm wrong though. I'm not to knowledgeable about amplifiers in general. The nirvana inducer-

I can't really think of any cons from using a 12 volt trigger besides needing to use additional 1/8" mono cable. IMO it works quite well, I use 2 12 volt triggers in my system- one from the preamp to the power switching center, and the other feeding DSW MicroPRO subs.
I suppose there is a slight possibility of a turn on/turn off transient- but try it out. When you turn the system on or off if you do not hear a thud or pop through the speakers, then don't worry about it.-Eric

12 volt triggers may not always work. I just got an Outlaw 7125 amp and was using the mono cable to trigger it from a Sony 3400 ES Receiver. It didn't seem to recognize the signal. I had to turn it on and off of standby by pushing the button on the front of the amp. I was getting no sound from the amp until I got rid of the trigger cable connection.Front - Polk LSiM 705, Center - Polk LSiM 704c, Rear - Polk LSi 7

Yeah...I kinda got that impression. He said it enough times in his post.
You'd think if he was spamming forums trying to sell something he could at least make it legible...that's one huge run-on sentence that makes no sense. The nirvana inducer-
