Can someone explain the correct settings for blu-ray inputs to a surroundbar 360 please.
I have a samsung BD-P2550 hdmi output connected to a Sharp Aquos hdmi input. The Sharp optical output is hooked to the Surroundbar's input. No audio when watching the blu-ray. (works fine watching HDTV)
Added optical output from the samsung blu-ray to the surroundbar input aux1. Now I get audio. Is this the correct connection?
Further, the samsung blu-ray offers PCM, Bitstream-recode, and Bitstream-audiophile. Recode is described for - optical input that can decode DTS. Audiophile is described for - HDMI 1.3 receiver which has DTS-HD decoding capability.
Also available is 96Khz or 48Khz PCM sampling rate.
I have no clue what to choose.

Optical cannot transmit bitstream-audiophile as it is referred to there. Only HDMI can transmit bitstream-audiophile, which is the DTS-HD Master Audio (Highest resolution audio 24-bit/96KHz @ 8 channels or 24-bit/192KHz @ 2 channels).
In this case, you do have the correct connection. You should chose Bitstream-recode or PCM if recode doesnt work. Chose 96Khz, and if that doesnt work chose 48Khz. -
I agree with Shiarua concerning DTS-HD and the connections you chose are correct. You could also use the coaxial digital input in lieu of the optical input.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Thank you for the information.
What is the benefit of switching to (or adding?) a coaxial digital cable?
I assume the cable would be from the blu-ray to the polk?
BTW, using the recode setting at 96Khz, the system sounds great.
My wife even commented on the audio of "the dark knight".
Thanks,

No benefit, just noting the option. Yes.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
