I haven't heard the RF's but the W3's are pretty tight and punchy.

Either way, I would put it in a ported box based on the kind of music you listen to.

So maybe Im a little biased but what about the new Polk MM series? IMO, theyre just as good as the W3 and youd have something that not everybody and their brother has.

That's the reason why I bought my SR124DVCs and I couldn't be happier.

If you listen more to rap than go with the Rockford simply because rap is more boomy bass than tight and accurate and that's what Rockford's are IMO. JL is more for tight punchy rock music. Just my $.02 though :)

A good quality sub will be better than a lesser quality sub regardless what music youre listening to. A sub's job is to reproduce the signal its being sent as accurately as possible. Whether it be boomy rap bass or tight jazz drums. A better quality sub like the MM will play both just fine.

Now some subs are better at being louder but generally thats at the expense of sound quality. I personally would rather have the sub that plays everything well as opposed to the one that just plays loud.

...jl is a much better sub than the RF... but i agree with the others... how about a polk sub? i have 2 10" MOMOs and i listen to EVERYTHING.... Bochelli, Incubus, Kanye....

If i ran my setup again i would prob get a single SR 12" and run 1000w into it.

Im not a fan of any RF gear except their amps - which are at the top of the game, and if its between those two, i say the JL.... but i also feel that any JL besides the w6 and w7 aren't worth mentioning...

I don't know where your making ur purchase... but a 12" SR is the same price as that RF

I'm happy with My old a$$ Polk Dx subs....

    I wouldn't buy
    ........... Fagsgate, or J.rip.u.off.L

I've been unimpressed with JL for what they charge for their products.

    Fosgate is just mediocre.

What are you trying to accomplish exactly? Loudness? Sound quality?

Out of the two you mentioned, the T1 will get louder and sound better doing so over the w3.

JL Audio drivers are superior to Rockford Fosgate. Have you thought about Infinity Kappa series? (Perfect 10.1/12.1) I've had VERY good luck with them and the sound is very good.
