Only if the Blu-ray player has the capability to play HD-DVD's. Most of them don't, because they're competing formats. There are some that will play both though. If I remember right you got a Sony BDP-S350...which I'm pretty sure doesn't play HD-DVD.

You should just need an HDMI cable. The same one that was suggested for your Blu-ray in your other thread should be just fine.

What else do you have to hook up to it besides the HD-DVD and BR? Do you have a receiver with HDMI inputs?

I will be interested in your opinion of what is the better upconverting player - the A2 or the Sony 350.

I had the A2 and really liked its upconverting. I finally got in the 350, but am not allowed to open it until Christmas.... Just wondering if it is as good as the A2 was.

What I have.. ....http://www.radiient.com/Radiient-Select-4-Four-Input-HDMI-Switch-Repeater?sc=2&category=41 ...This takes 4 inputs and has one output for hdmi ...I tried other switchers and nothing came close to this for quality and functionality.

    http://www.laaudiofile.com/select4.html

It was 399 when I bought it...now its 249....they make a lower end model that actually still uses the same great board ( A TMDS chip for every input and the output...instead of multiplexing through a single chip ) without the rs-232 port and only comes with one standard remote and not the pro remote for 149.

I agree and they are a fraction of the price. A 4 to 1 nib is under $30/remote.

Monoprice is THE place to get good quality, affordable cables, HDMI Switchers, AND flat panel wall mounts. Why pay more? Over a typical 6-12 foot run, you will never see a difference in the image quality between a $200 Monster and a $20 Monoprice HDMI cable.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

I agree about the hdmi cables....as long as you get the 1.3 version cables from monoprice you are fine , but there is a big difference in switcher performance. I tried 2 versions from monoprice...gave em away.....tried another version from Gefen...gave it away....then I tried that radiient and it was game over.

The video quality is noticeably better....that in itself is worth the price of admission...the auto source switching works flawless and you can turn it off if you want to....you can turn the lights off ( Pretty dim when the lights are on which is nice ) completely if you choose....etc.

All the bells and whistles are nice, but it was the video quality that sold me...it wasnt like magical power cables and magical IC's that take a golden ear and usually a golden imagination to hear ....this is something that can be seen.

I have just about every test disc ( DVD, BLU ) made and the other 3 switchers introduced some measure of change to the signal...slight but actually noticeable. Putting the Radiient in , even with your nose almost to the screen...there was no difference at all to the picture...so it was the one that stayed in my system.

Sure it costs a lot more, but look at what we pay in audio for small changes...and this is really noticeable.

This mainboard is the reason for the cost and for the great picture...if you look at every input and the output...there is an active TMDS chip for every port..4 for the 4 inputs and 1 for the output...they dont multiplex through 1 or 2 chips ...the signal just gets directed ...not changed in any way...and signal integrity is maintained .

This is one instance where paying more gets you more.

And the firmware is flashable through the RS-232 port for new features down the road...as well as for adjusting timing differences for older hdmi products that dont like to play well with other hdmi components...for my older 42" plasma I gave to my parents, I had the switching speed adjusted from something like 50 milliseconds to 150 milliseconds at the factory because the older plasma's hdmi board was too slow and had issues.

Reading up on the OPPO....I bet that one is pretty damn good too....and only 99 dollars :D I am now in need of another switcher in the mancave after adding blu ray in there last night....I am going to give the OPPO a try after reading the reviews.
