Hi guys, I'm from Argentina and I've found this forum looking for info about Polk Speakers.

I've a Denon AVR-1800 and I want to hook up a pair of speakers for music and movies in my apartment.

I'm between two Polk speakers, both used at (practically) the same price:

Polk S-10

Very good condition, but no grills.

Polk Monitor M60

Excellent condition, a little bit more expensive.

Wich one do you guys recommend me?

I can only say that I like more the design of the M60 (plus it has the grills) and they are a bit taller wich is good for me because of the tweeter altitude.

On the other hand, the S-10 looks uglier to me but they have a bigger Woofer and they were Top-of-the-line. That makes me wonder.

Wich one sounds better?
It's a plus for me the one that needs less power to give good sound. I like to listen music at high volume but not ALL day :)

i would go with the m60 if you already have a subwoofer.. looks nicer, newer just for some reason, i almost have a feeling that the S-10 will give out more bass.. And why get speakers you will want to keep hidden ;) and remember to get a subwoofer if you don't already have one..

Finally I could listen to both. S-10 was a clear winner to me.

Better and clearier sound in general. Highs and mids were much more natural and plain than M60s and on top of that, the 10" Woofer (bass-reflex) gives much more powerful and deeper bass.

S-10s turned out to be pretty cool. In the pictures I saw they were awful, but it was for the flash and the camera.

Thery're all black and sleek. My apartment is mostly black and white so they look really cool.

I'm happy for you. I did have a feeling that the S10 was going give out more bass, most speakers manufactured today are designed to work with a separate subwoofer and it also depends on whether you are using a stereo Amplifier or a surround receiver.. Just don't get your neighbors mad at you now ;)
