dude i love to war hack. if i am out and about and have my labtop and need to use the internet. if you dont secure your wi-fi you are to blame.

Just in case you weren't aware, since you are so brazen to openly admit such activity on an open internet forum, knowingly using someone elses wireless internet access (or wired for that matter) without permission, whether it secured or not, is a federal offense. The only issue that a person has to deal with (other than thier own loass of passwords or data) when they fail to secure his/her network is when it is used to launch an attack on others and those attacked company's file suit against them. Failure to secure ones network is not an open invitation to use its services.

Looks like if I do decide to go with an apartment (not sure yet), I'll just ask the cable company during the install.

Based on the advice given, if everyone is living the same house/same address I should be okay!!

Sorta like leaving the doors unlocked to my car is an invitation to have my car stolen. It wouldn't be the thief's fault....he did nothing wrong, I did. I should have known better. Juvenile mentality..... I want what I want and will take it if I can get it.

If I understand correctly, are all of you living in the same house? If so that is no different from everbody else who uses a wireless router or a switch to share their signal within the house.

Yes, all of us will be living in the same house. Just divided so that each of us has our own "personal" space.
