LSiFX With RTi Fronts?

I have a setup that includes Polk Audio RTi A9 fronts, CSi A6 center, and DSW Pro 500 sub. I was looking at Polk Audio FXi A6 to make a 5.1 setup. However, I am hearing good things about LSiFX. But there is all this talk about how it goes with other LSi stuff and is "timbre-matched." Do you feel this is relevant, or should I just go with the best speaker? Price is not an object in this case. Despite my presence on this forum and love of music, I do not consider myself any sort of techie or audiophile. I just want good sound, few hassles. Thanks much!
Gregory

I would stick with the same series especially when dealing with lsi's & rti's. The rti's are very bright and the lsi are a complete opposite.

Appreciate it. Thanks! Are you using the A3's as sides in a 7.1 setup?Gregory

I'd go with the FXi's, they're voice matched to the RTi towers, so you'd have a much better all around sound scape.
The LSi's are also 4 ohms...I don't know what you have for a receiver, but unless it's a really good one you'd have trouble driving the LSi's. The FXi's are 8 ohms, so you wouldn't have that problem. The nirvana inducer-

Thanks. Right now, I have an Onkyo TX-SR606, which seems to be a decent, basic A/V receiver, but I'm already asking a lot of it without an amp.Gregory

I own a '606 myself. How does it do driving those A9's? I'm planning on getting some A9's eventually, and I'm curious how well the 606 does driving that big of a speaker.
The 606 is a great receiver though, I love mine. The nirvana inducer-

Those A9's need more power. That 606 will not cut it. That 606 is probably only putting out 30-40 real watts. -

That's kinda what I was figuring. Oh well, I guess when I get my A9's, I'll just have to get an external amp to power them. As if that's a bad thing...lolThe nirvana inducer-

please excuse my off topic question...
what does it mean when a speaker is "bright"? -
The tweeter can get kind of harsh .

I'm running a mixed bag...AAD's across the front & the LSiFX for the surrounds. They blend in perfectly. From my understanding it's more important to have the front soundstage timbre matched, whereas different surrounds can be used with great results.
I had the LSiFX's first before I chose the AAD's for my mains. Timbre matching was a concern at first, but once everything was up & running they just sounded too good & they're staying put.
The LSiFX are just a great sounding speaker & really compliment my setup very well.
