About five or so years ago, I was at a Best Buy, looking at some surround sound systems. I'd been thinking about buying one, but they didn't really have anything that caught my eye, and I had a rather small budget.

So I leave the store, and a guy comes walking up to me saying "hey man, you wanna buy some speakers?"

So I go and look at them, and it's a full "Prodynamics" 5.1 speaker system. To the best of my knowledge Prodynamics isn't even an actual company...but that's what's on the box. There's also a price tag on the box that says they were 2900 dollars new...which is completely laughable. He was trying to sell it to me for like 900 dollars at first...I ended up talking him down to like 80 dollars though...lol

They served me well for quite a while...and actually I'm still using the satellites for the surrounds/surround backs on my Onk' 606. So I don't really regret the purchase...and seeing as I only paid 80 bucks for em, I don't even really feel like I got ripped off for that matter.

Don't go getting the idea that I recommend them or anything though...lol

That scam is so big now. They have started their own websites, sell the crap
on EBAY, and post fake reviews. Here in Dallas, they would post and ad
for Polks, Paradigm, etc., with the bullSH*T speaker picture on CL.
When I flagged their ad, they would just change the brand name using the same picture.
They have several warehouses in the metro area.
Some guy runs a CL ad about once a week listing all the bogus brands
and where the warehouses are at with a warning not to buy them.
Public service at it's best. It's a shame EBAY won't pull their listings.
CL at least allows users to flag or post warnings.
