Fixed l pads

Hi

What wattage resistors should I use for a fixed l pad? I Google'd a bit and all I got were off sounding numbers that I can't find anywhere.

Could anyone also link me to or post a formula/calculator to find the resistance values?

    Depends on what kind of speakers, what application and what kind of amplifier you're using...

    I know..but how would I determine the resistor values and wattages knowing the driver specifications? I'm not looking for someone to give me the answer, just need to know how to figure it out.

    I've also heard that I could use resistors in series before the tweeter's crossover components, and that each ohm of resistance is about 1dB attenuation. Is this correct? I assume I would need to add the resistors on the positive end?
