Break in the CS2?

I was wondering if I need to break in the CS2, and if so, what is the best way to do so?

Thanks.

If you bought it brand new, then yes it does have a break in period. All speakers do. There's not really anything special you have to do to break it in, just don't really crank it up until after it has 50-75 hours or so of use on it.

Before reviewing the CS2's, I broke them in for over a hundred hours, usually by playing them while nobody was at home. During the review process, Iput at least another 100 hours on them and they continued to improve IMHO. Hopefully you're using either a 4 channel, or two sets of amps.
    Enjoy them, I sure did.

Thanks for the help. I do have another question though. How loud should I play them while breaking them in? Is it that I just shouldn't turn them up really loud?

    Thanks.

I had them playing at about 80db when nobody was home. From time to time I'd crank them up for an hour or so, just to really stretch the cones. I usually use classical music as it is the most dynamic.

Why would he use a 4 channel amp on a center channel?

    Because he's crazy like that.

Seriously though, are you thinking of a different speaker? I don't think you could use a 4 channel amp on that speaker.

Markmarc is referring to the Emerald Physics CS2 speakers, which require 4 channels of amplification. However, it would appear that the OP is referring to the Polk CS2 center channel speaker, hence the confusion.

Nileriver23, if it's a brand new speaker, it's needs to be broken in just as any other new speaker does. You do so by playing material thru it....nothing to it.

Thank you for stirring the pot a little more. That is definitely the mature thing to do. Isn't your ignore list there so that you can...ignore me? It doesn't really make much sense to have me on your ignore list if you're still going to reply to my posts.
