Fussy Music CD Collector?

When it comes to Classical Cd's are you a discerning collector?

Something I did years ago......
Always got the latest copy of The Penguin Guide To Collecting Classical Music Cd's.
When I bought Classical Music Cd's I got the highest rated ones by this guide.
Many times got the CD Of The Month featured in CD Review Magazine.
(Not sure this even exists anymore....doubt it)

By doing this I have quite a nice Classical Music CD Collection(bout 150-200)
(I own very few run of the mill Classical recordings)
Haven't done this in years but thanks to getting my equipment back up to par I think in 2009 I might continue my collection in this way.

Anyone else this fussy and go this route?

I'd be interested in knowing your TOP 5 recordings from a recording quality perspective.

I'm curious as to how you formulated that idea.

Naw, I am pretty much sloppy and all over the place.;)

The Handel Water Music SACD is outstanding

The Mecury Living Presence SACD are all good bets, Also Sprach, Symphony Fantastique, Bartok.
