Denon DVD-955S (2910) Universal Player SACD/DVD-A/DVD

This player has only been in my house for four days. I ordered it two weeks ago when I had the same 27" WEGA CRT I'd been happily using for years. I wanted a nice, sturdy, reliable music transport with solid video quality as a bonus. Then my wife surprised me with a beautiful Panasonic Plasma for Christmas, and now I'm jonesing for some Blu-Ray goodness.

It's not that this player doesn't look good on my new Plasma (because it does) or that it might/probably sounds better on RBCD than my Sony CE595 changer, but the knowledge that I could be gobbling up HD movies via my Netflix subscription has me eager to see this thing go to a home that will appreciate it more.

It's a Denon recert, I've had no problems and it looks just like new. Manu box, remote, manual, everything else - $150/shipped and insured via UPS ground in the lower 48. Elsewhere, we can talk.

    It does, but when it went off the player was all reflections. I can take better pics in the morning. No scratches or anything though, fwiw. It looks right purdy.

    That is an excellent price. I picked one up on EB for a little more than that and it didn't come with all the stuff (remote, manual, etc). Very nice sounding unit too.

    Thank you. Looking forward to it- that was indeed fast turnaround!

    I bought this player mainly because I have been looking for a hdcd transport and this plays not only that but also sacd's etc.

    I have a hdcd theta DAC, and I am going to run a comaprison betwen the denon dac and the theta DAC. So, question is how does SACD work over a digital out with an external DAC. Anybody know ?
