Polk CS2 or CS10 to match M20 fronts?

I think either of these would be a good fit to my new M20 (NIB C.C. store closeout) fronts and RM8 surrounds, but is the CS10 worth the extra $100 for a center channel?

I'd like the CSiA4, but I've read here and other places they aren't the best match for my M20's (which I got for $55 out the door each!).

Thanks!

The center speaker is the single most important speaker in a home theater setup. The more you spend on it the happier you'll be with your sound.

The CS10 is basically an updated version of the CS1, which is the CS2's little brother. They have a different driver construction material, but are essentially the same. So of the two, I'd recommend the CS2, simply because it's bigger, and you're going to get more sound out of it. You wouldn't really be getting better sound quality with the CS10, and in fact, it might actually be worse. You definitely wouldn't be getting as much volume out of it.

If you have the money spring for the CSiA4 though. It should blend with your other speakers just fine, and it's not really much more expensive. It can be had through Polk Direct's ebay store for about 120 dollars shipped.

Wow, then yeah I definitely will go with the A4 then!
The C2's I've been looking at were right around $100, so I'll easily spring the extra $25 for a much better center.

Thanks for the info on the CS10 also vs. the CS2.

Well there's none currently available ATM.

How often does Polk update the products on their store?

    Glad I could help.

In the future too, if you ever decide to upgrade, the CSiA4 is voice matched to all of the RTi series, which are some damn good speakers. So you'll likely never need to replace your center channel. Unless of course you decide to upgrade to the A4's big brother CSiA6. If you wait around they have the A6's on their ebay store sometimes too, for about 150 bucks shipped, which is also a great deal. An A6 might overpower the M20's though I suppose.

Yeah I think the A4 might be best matched for the M20's. If I hadn't of walked out of the store for around $100 new for the pair I probably would have gotten better floorstanding units, but already they sound great.

Man, the eBay store has some great FXi's for cheap too! I was going to get the RM8 surrounds for $250 from Crutchfield, but not anymore!

The FXi's are voice matched to the CSiA4 center channel actually, along with the rest of the RTi series. So that would definitely be the way to go for surrounds. Get those and the A4 center channel, and eventually upgrade to some of the RTi towers for your fronts and you'll have a killer setup.

That's a good deal on the M20's though, I probably wouldn't have passed that up either.

Well I'm about to nab the FXi's from the Polk Direct store.

Again I currently don't see the CSi A4's for sale, so if anyone sees a set pop up (even refurbed) make sure and post the link here! :)

What the hell? I just checked and you're right...there were like 15 of them on there this morning. That's weird...I guess a bunch of people are buying em up.

Keep checking back, I'm sure they'll have some more of them on there before to long. They have them new at Crutchfield, Amazon and other sites...but they're like 250-300 bucks through them, so I'd wait for a refurb myself.

    All good!

I'm in no rush as I won't even have my new receiver (and sub) for a few more weeks so I'll just keep an eye out.
