My Monster Power center took a dump on me. Monster doesn't repair the product they replace it which for the price they want is pretty cool even though I don't have the funds to do it right now.

Problem is that I can't listen music. I don't have enough outlets to power the equipment and I'm really against power strips.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get around this until I get the moola to get the new power center?

Thanks,
Joe

I used a belkin power strip once.....its the one to use if your going to go the cheap power strip route. its not ideal, but you will have some decent protection for the gear if there is a power spike.

talkin like 30 bucks or so. I'll find a link if I can

a little more than I thought, but the 8 and 10 outlets ones with the remote on/off are more than intriguing. might grab one myself for the theater

this happens to be the one I used to use for my 2 channel. it handled a Carver m4.0t amp and the rest perfectly fine. It was replaced by a Monster 5100 (I think the first one, you had series 2 with the blue lights right?)

truth be told, not a real audible sound difference at all, I did like the added protection, more purpose built, and ability to read the voltage and amps in case there was a problem.....but other than that, no audible difference really. 24.99? think you can schwing that brotha :D

Since Monster replaces them for free, why do you need funds to get it replaced? From my experience their customer service is excellent.

Monster is not replacing mine for free. I purchased it from a fellow Polkie so they are charging for the replacement.

if you really need to go with a power strip Belkin makes some nice ones as does tripplite I've owned both, no problems with noise check the packaging, the higher the joules rating the better the protection, also they have a guaranty. The strips I bought had a $50,000 and $75,000 on all products connected to it.

Why would you want to give any money to the corporate thug that is M?

I'm sure you can find something else that will do just as good a job & cost a lot less to boot.

I'll have to check some of those links out. I've been looking for a good surge protector. I'm just using a cheap one right now...and I think it's time for an upgrade.

Sucks about your powercenter getting fried. That just gives you an excuse to upgrade to a better one though. ;)

If you don't return my phone calls, the power center isn't the only thing that's going to be broken.

Check out Pure A/V or PS Audio.

But first, give Jesse a call. :D
