ok what is the diff. between sr104 and the sr104-dvc??

    The SR-104 DVC has dual voice coils, and the SR-104 has a single voice coil.

    The difference is basically in how it's wired, it adds some more flexibility to the driver with dual voice coils. If it has two 4 ohm voice coils, wired together it's putting a 2 ohm load on your amplifier, and drawing more power from it. You can also run multiple subs in series with one another, or if you prefer, you can hook up the two voice coils on one sub to each channel of your amp seperately.

    It's more of a personal preference thing...neither one is really better.

    ah i see. question do any stores sell polk subs i am trying to decide weather to get polk sr104dvc or rockford fosgate power series 12 inch which is 600 watt rms what do you think?

    Both Best Buy and Circuit City sell Polk speakers. If you don't have one of those around you, use http://www.polkaudio.com/dealerlocator/index.php to find your nearest authorized dealer.

    I've never really heard either of the two subs you named, so I can't really say. From experience with other models though I'd have to say I like Polk's sound more than the Fosgate's. Rockford Fosgate does make some nice speakers though. Someone who's more knowledgeable of car audio than I am will chime in I'm sure.

    You may be better off posting this in the car audio section too.

    ya i have a best buy and curciutcity near me but the best buy dosent sell any polk car stuff and the circuit city does not sell their subs but i did find a store called frys so im going to go check them out there.
