Anyone else highly disappointed in home? It seams like a pointless program. If they eventually get some games connected to home and give me a purpose for being there it might redeem itself. As it stands here is a list of things you can do:
- Bowl in a low quality bowling game
- Play pool with horrible physics
- Watch a loading bar in the theater
- Fly a UFO over a pond
- Pay for items to decorate your house and avatar
- And best of all, you can dance.
This penny arcade comic sums it up, http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2008/12/12/
So what do you guys think of home?

It was cool for the first 30 mins.. now hmm I don't care for it. I'm not going to pay for "fake" clothes and furniture and stuff !

I've been laughing to myself for quite a while now about Home. Sony makes it sound like its the greatest thing ever, the killer app for the PS3. I look at it and I don't see much of anyone spending any great time dicking around with it. Delay after delay and its still going to be lame no matter what.

It's a beta.. more like an alpha. Give it time.
Grand Theft Auto, Everquest, Second Life, World Of Warcraft, etc. They all had their Alpha stages. -

That's true. Does anyone know when they are going to release the full version?7.1 HOME THEATER:

Just got done playing it.
Yep 30 minutes and I was done. It is also really important you have a keyboard otherwise it is nearly impossible to type.
Characters where very generic, not going to buy fake clothes. Just the whole thing was very awkward, almost creepy. -

I was in the closed beta for months and I was really hoping that they would add a lot of improvements when the beta opened to all users. Boy was I let down, all they did was change the central plaza which I think was the one they were using over in Japan and add price tags to a bunch of pointless stuff. Fortunately those who were in the closed beta got everything you can buy for free which is good because I wouldn't have spent a cent on their current offerings.// Panasonic AE8000 // Pioneer SC-57 // Polk Audio RTi A9 // Polk Audio CSiA6 //

Home seems to me, to be a very basic idea with a world of possibilities ahead of it. It is kind of fun to play around with (for not very long) right now, but i suspect there will be an entirely different and much more evolved Home in the near future. It is nice to see that Sony is offering a new and innovative idea such as Home, free of charge.

I recently checked it out and it isn't terrible. You've got to remember, it's not a game. It's a social network for video gamers. It's cool for what it is. I'm sure it will continue to get updates and add-ons to improve it. Also, IT'S FREE! If you don't like it, don't sweat it. You didn't pay anything for it. For a free social networking program, it's about what I expected. There's some good potential there too.Mains - TSi200
