Power needed sugestions welcome

Hello all.....
I have been running a onkyo SR-805 (140w-per ch) for 1 year now that has been powering lsi-15 fronts, lsi-15 surrounds, lsi-c and a psw-1000. The boss (wife) has giving me the okay for a special xmas gift this season POWER for starving polks. Have thought of using 805 for pre amp but I am not to happy with its preformance and it down converts 1080i to 720p over hdmi... so any suggestion on amp and pre amp or something like Pioneers SC-09TX

    I am very happy with my 805 and Emotiva XPA-5. XPA-5 is on sale now.

    You can always check out used Adcoms, Rotels, Parasounds, etc. It will make those LSi's really shine.

    Both are excellent suggestions. I think EMO has a new Pre out, or will be out shortly. Don't rely on the watt specs of an external amp. They have much more power at the same watt ratings than a receiver.

    I have a harmon Kardon avr 354 thAt I love, it has a great sound and ore-outs. I just ordered the emo xpa-5 which will drive my rtia9s. I got my hk from an amazon merchant (wholesale av) for $450, it retails for $850. I am planning on using it's power for the surrounds only and driving the rest with the xpa5, which will use the power from the unused channels in the mains.
